I wonder if they could be modified such that they could be . . .

There are OEM ducts on the 135i actually - hence the fog light delete.

Oooooof from the diagram, looks like you might be right. That sucks.

Not terribly efficient from a warranty billable hours point of view either... :iono:

On the BMW USA site, 17" wheels with all season tires are being offered as an option, so diameter-wise, they should fit.

I like the down low look of these calipers especially since my Sti had gold Brembos and the evo had red ones but changing pads was quick.. Thankfully I am only bringing the car to the local auto x to spectate...

Oops - not so fast. After talking to BBS, the ability to put 17's over those brakes is going to be very dependent on the wheel - so in most cases, it will have to be 18's

Well, I can pretty much guarantee that if I have to buy yet another set of wheels any time soon, my wife will disown me. I'm hoping my wheels will fit.

Did you happen to notice we are exactly 2 production numbers apart? My car will be immediately in front of yours on the assembly line, dipped in the Alpine White vat just before yours, and roll off the line about 5 minutes before yours...

I already have two sets of "winter wheels".. been there, done that.

just a thought why weren't these brakes cross drilled? those look better and i would assume they work better.

and this is optional but if anyone can explain how you change a brake pad that would be cool, not specifically just generally.

They may work better but any time you drill or slot a rotor you cut the life cycle of it.. and considering that BMW will replace those under their warrenty i would bet they decided.. ahhhh no thanks to that.. lol

Every cross drilled rotor that I've seen on a car has micro cracks in them. I don't buy into the extra cooling benefits for daily use either. Sure there's those holes to radiate heat out better, but there's less surface, making the rest of the surface work harder (and have more friction applied to it, creating more heat). I'm not a big fan of them.

and the drilled/slotted rotors chew through pads much quicker. I have the competition package breaks on my E46 m3 and how quickly it goes through a $400 set of track pads is criminal.

First thing we did when we got the car home last night was take the front and rear pads out to measure them for Performance Friction. More to come on that

Another thing we noticed was when we had the rotor off was that the back dust plates on the back side of the rotor will not have to be cut off, but have a few bolt on attachment points.

Will make it easy for aftermarket (or maybe even home shop fabbed brake cooling duct plates)
