135I bone stock make it to 100k miles?

So you change your oil every 5k miles with synthetic.
Stick to the book about the other fluids.
Don't kick the snot out of the car.
Keep it in the garage over nights and nut blast the valves once every 50k miles or so......
What do you think? Will a 135I stock make it to 100k with out throwing up it's guts like some Reno?

"throwing up it's guts" that's when the interior of the engine are exposed to the exterior of the engine. caused by failure of all kinds of fun things that should not fail.
rings, bearings, valves, turbo and the like....and yes this includes a water pump which should last until the belt is changed!

Had my old 1.8T till she had a good 130k miles. I was beyond impressed by that little I4 20 valve engine.
If it wasn't that it was my x wife's car and that the suspension was in need of a total rebuild i would have kept her.
She was bone stock other than the plugs, the coils and the oil. Same clutch, same turbo and head.

Hmmm, not sure why the concern, other than being way overly priced to repair simple stuff any BMW will run like a tank forever. Most don't drive them like they should but they are built to last. Yes they have problems, some models more than others, however, you will most likely never have a trans problem,,,ever,,or a major motor problem unless you get to modding too much. Stock as you questioned? I know at least three people myself with almost 300,000 miles on BMWs

No reason why not, lots of BMWs have made it over 100K miles.

If this were a standard engine I would be ok with it.
It's that pesky DI part that kind of gets me to wonder....

My 335i has 101k FBO and runs like a top. A friend of mine was tuned for almost 100k now has a fftec single turbo running great.

IIRC, BMW race teams use 100k+ mile blocks for their motors.

Are you kidding me!??! DI is making the engine safer by running a more controled tune!

Yes your engine is gonna make it to 100K miles without exploding... Any car you buy in America is gonna %&#ing make it to 100K miles if you treat it properly... I wouldn't be shocked if it made it to 300K without catastrophic failure. Stupid post.

I know of two 135 here in the UK that have done in excess of 100k miles, & one of them is a 2.5year old N55 car.

Its not the engine or tranny i would be worried about. Its the suspension, bushings, creaks, rattles, electrical gremlins that will drive you nuts. If you keep up on maintenance and are proactive to things, it should last a good, long time. I am hoping to hold onto mine for a while!
