The M2 is Ready for You Speed Fiends!
Yes, the M2 is now available to order on BMWUSA.com.
My M2 will cost $56,145 which is a bargain for an M BMW. Nearly everything is standard except the DCT, a $2,900 option, and the Executive PKG, a $1,200 option. My price includes the DCT, but I decided getting the Executive PKG would be a bit snobbish on my part. |

Wow I've never seen a BYO BMW page so devoid of option and package choices.
The dealers will still somehow find a way to jack up the prices! |

They certainly have. Most people buying an M2 in California are paying dealer markup well above MSRP.

There will be dealers who'll sell it for list. They'll value their reputation and won't want to be seen as a price gouger!

I just recorded a whole bunch of new commercials for the launch of the M2. I cant say too much, but the car (and featured actress) look preeeetty great in the new spots. ;-)

Has anyone noticed the recent styling of new cars coming on the market? The Japanese cars look like spaceships, and the Germans are getting a bit more stylish in their designs.
Fortunately, BMW hasn't gone wild on the design of the M2. In fact, I think it is quite handsome with some nice touches to what is basically a restyled M235i. The very masculine front and rear go perfectly with the hunkered down ready to pounce look! |

Honestly the profile pic is the only one I like. The front and rear are bleh. Wide fenders too bubbly Same as the M4, I like more pronounced arches like 1M and M3. As horrible as this sounds I would dump that money into a much older 1M lol. Bet the handling is gonna be sweeeeet on the M2 tho!

I notice on Cars.com there are three M2s available. Two appear to be at list. The third, the dealer is gouging for an extra $10K. Screw him.
Before you know it, there will be thousands available! Anyway, I want to read all the reviews on the car. |

The M2 put down a pretty good lap time at Laguna Seca at 1:40.88.
http://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1239654 Not bad when you see where it ranks on the following list. The BMW 135i clocked in at exactly 1:46, pretty impressive as well. http://fastestlaps.com/tracks/laguna-seca-post-1988 |

M2 looks great. Wish they had done something about the rear end. Also agree on the new wide fender style being used by BMW. But things change. Personally, at the moment I'd rather not have the insurance premium attached to a M car. Honestly wish they had done more for it in the performance department. I know it never would have happened, but if they had dropped a S65 variant in there instead of a N55, I would have seriously considered switching.

The V8 engine is going the way of the Dodo bird except in very expensive high performance rides.
Performance isn't always about just power but also the suspension living up to what the engine delivers. In that regard, BMW has nearly always delivered a balanced blend of power and handling. I've driven some cars with ridiculous power, and all they could do is melt the rear tires. They usually had very sloppy handling. The M2 has more than adequate power with 9.4 pounds/HP. Actually my 135i has more than I really need! Also the price is incredible. Try finding another car with all the equipment this one has at the paltry $57,345 which includes everything. The creepy CLA 45 AMG costs more than that! If the car lives up to the press releases, it'll be the bargain of the century. If it doesn't, you can put in your order for the new Tesla for $35K, well actually nearly $50K with options. Last edited by Mr Rooty Von Tooty; 04-02-2016 at 11:21 AM.. |

I don't like having an option of either this or a Tesla 3.

I'm actually more impressed by the 135i than most cars on that list. I'm sure you've heard me say that I want my next car to be a 997 Carrera S. The 135i that already sits in my garage is 4 seconds faster than the Porsche 911 I'm lusting after which clocked in at 1:50.
