Car Magnets for Racing
Hey guys,
I was at an autocross last weekend (with a bunch of you 1ers) and saw just how many people were still using painters tape for their numbers. I asked a couple people that had magnets how much they payed and it seemed like a lot to me. So, I contacted the owner of a Sign-A-Rama in MA and asked him to put together some quotes for me. 12" tall each (as in the sample picture below) 2 numbers (1 on each side of the car) - $12 4 numbers (2 on each side) - $18 6 numbers (3 on each side) - $25 These prices apply for up to 3 colors (not including black and white) For custom magnets, I can help design them for you and we'll get a special quote from him. *Admins/Moderators* I'm doing this for the forum members, I'm not getting anything out of this and I don't work for the Sign-A-Rama. I posted this on another thread to get a feel for how many would be interested and its a lot; so a new thread was needed. Sample: TO PLACE AN ORDER I would first suggest picking colors, design, and font with me here on the forum. Then once we have a final layout picked ... Call Giancarlo (Jon-Carlo) at Sign-A-Rama: 508-481-7551 Tell him you want to place an order for the 12" car magnets. 2 magnets (1 number on each side of the car) - $12 4 magnets (2 numbers on each side) - $18 6 magnets (3 on each side) - $25 Give him your numbers, this will be your order number so we can keep track of them. You won't need to give him any other information (like font, size, or colors). I will be sending him the files from what I've posted here. Have a credit card ready. These usually have a turn around time of one business day unless he's swamped. Custom Orders: (Custom graphics, sizes, or some other order) I will send him the images and once he gets back to me on a quote then I'll have you call him. Once your order is placed, he will e-mail me all the numbers that have been payed for. If you haven't approved a final design (or I'm not certain) I will post here and ask you to show me the exact one you decided on.

Here are a few that I was thinking of... if they are easy for the guy to do. If they need to have more regular, rounded edges, maybe they could be on a more round background of Alpine White III to match my car. What do you think?
I tried to add an AWIII background already, but wasn't sure exactly what the RGB numbers were for it... it still does not look as crisp as real AW does. The fonts are: Chiller Rage Italic Viner Hand ITC [EDIT: pictures removed and modified below]

I like the middle one but they are kind of thin. To help them stick to the car and make them easier to read, try making them bold.

Here are a modified set. In the last 2 I was afraid the 1 looked too much like a 7, so I changed it to an "I".
I am thinking I prefer the last one right now. Again, if they need an Alpine white "halo" around them to make them wider, I am cool with that. Anyone know the RGB color code for Alpine White (III).

Here are a couple. I actually think the asymmetry of the drop shadow may not be the best unless the halo matches the car color. I have a few here, and think last three look good. It makes me wish I had a 4 in my number, I did get your number right, correct? The last one has slightly narrower 0's

One more with a bigger drop shadow... I think I am leaning towards this design. This font is Tempus Sans ITC, bolded and widened a little bit.
Anyone know of a good silver color. This one is ok, but maybe could be better.

That first one is GOLDEN! I wonder if adding any texture to the blue like what taylor did to that silver would make it look snappier. Thanks though!!!

Duplicate the text layer, remove the border & drop shadow, add noise (mono), motion blur around 10, and then nest that layer in the original (mask).

Art, got your e-mail.
How is this for a final design? If you like it, place the order with the directions in the OP and I'll send him the file.

Confirmed, he has the file.
Who would be interested in cone magnets? 3"-4" tall $3 a piece or 4 for $10 You don't have to order them. I can get a bunch made and bring them this weekend and you can buy as many as you want once you take out some cones.
