acceleration to 120
just doing my own testing of performance, and i notice good acceleration up to about 120MPH, then up to 130 takes some time. But i'll tell ya what, 120 is good enough for me. Hell, its so quiet of a ride and so easy to put that pedal down, you hardly even notice it - pretty scary really. -- 330xi
With my other vehicle - 2001 lightning, it can accelerate a lot faster, but man you know your flying just because of the noise it makes and the whine of the supercharger. no excuse for gettin into trouble with that. -- |

Yup it is pretty fast upto 100mph, unfortunately I'm still in the break-in period so I can't take it further than this. I wonder what the engine sounds like at 7000rpm...

yes the track.. i really like this car for its handling. speed is o.k., but i dont see a point racing the 1/4 with it. (or even any other type track). ive already maxxed it out speed and handling wise in a lot of areas clear of traffic. and yes i have a clean record and i've been testing the limits of cars for 10 years. Just dont be stupid on the road. Now maybe an M car i could take to the track as thats got some real power. to top it off, all tracks are well over an hour away from me. really sucks theres no autobahn here.

limiter kicks in at 135mph on the US 325i. Found out on A5 from Munich to Frankfurt. Pretty steady acceleration from 120 to 135. Still feels stable and planted.

I noticed that acceleration started to slow after 125... I've gotten over 120 a few times but only reached 135 once.... (I would have gone faster, but I didn't want to be a jerk and pass someone on the freeway at that speed -- I've only gone over 100 while passing through the Nevada or Arizona deserts and no matter how how empty the roads - even if they are empty as far as the eye can see - you will quickly catch up to far away traffic when you hit 125mph!)...
The freakiest thing about driving 125+mph is how anti-climactic it was... This car is smoother at 125 than my previous car was at 80mph! You really don't notice the speed unless you look at the speedometer... (actually, instead of taking my eye off the road at that speed, I'd track my top speed by setting the "speed limiter" chime to go off when I hit a target speed -- then I slow down and thank my lucky stars (and my V1) that I didn't get a ticket ... |

cool
I have taken my jeep upto 112mph, where it is limited by RPM. I have been 135mph in another car and it is such a rush. Maybe you could do a timed run, if you feel like it and post it

0-200km/h in 24.1s 0-260km/h in 45.9s it can hold 260km/h with no problem and it looks very stable .... fdc
