I thought the would dust less than stock. They really don't. Might actually be worse. But it's a different color - more brown to it than the stock pads - and seems to distribute more evenly around the wheel.

You can definitely feel a difference, but it’s not as big of a deal as people say. I had a bad bushing on my original control arms, so I used that as an excuse to upgrade to the M3 arms with fresh bushings

Yeah, subtlety is what most of us 1er owners like about the looks of our cars. That understated look.

Tried my first larger DIY, installed the 3 stage IM, and did the 130i conversion tune as well, so far i find from a stop, really puts you back in your seat, but high end i feel is lacking.

And double check proper DISA actutation. You can do this in INPA. The top end is where she should shine.

Once you're in INPA (MSV80 Main Menu) just go to >F8 Adaptations Then I usually just delete them all one by one except for battery change, oktnumber and segmenttime. Not sure what they are so I don't touch them. She might run like trash afterwards, don't worry, just let it run and relearn everything. If you get a persistent check engine light or half engine limp, clear the codes in INPA then do the throttle adaptation reset. Turn car off, floor accelerator pedal, put key in, push the start button (with your foot OFF the clutch/brake) so only ignition turns on, not the motor. With your foot flooring the pedal, count to 30s. Turn car off and remove key, then release your foot. Turn the car on and see if the check engine went away. Might take you a few tries at this but don't worry, nothing will break. As for the DISA checking, go back to the main menu and hit >F6 Component Triggering >F1 Actuator activations 1 >Shift+F6 Variable intake system VIMDISA Now you can see all the options for actuating the DISAs. Just play with them, you will hear the DISAs open and close. If one is broken you might see some info here, like you command it to open and it won't (although this should throw a code, even if it's a shadow code). If it's not too inconvenient, take the large DISA out and check for play or even a broken shaft. It should be very tight.

When you're feeling like a hotboi, about to hit it off the line. Light turns green, you launch and she just hooks. Rising thru the revs, you get ready to grab second. A quick bang of the limter, clutch in... pull that lever back and....
MISS SECOND LIKE A BITCH With a nice little grind to top it off.

H&R Super Sports came in yesterday so I plan on putting those on this Sunday. 1M front is on it's away along with the M4 style trunk lip I plan to modify for the E88. And I just hit 150 miles on the 135 I bought this week

just got mine. Stripped with blue dawn, clay barred, polished with Griots, coated with rejex, siliconed all the rubber, cleaned and treated the leather and then had a couple of beers after a good hot shower. Not a bad days work.
Still need to clean and treat the top. |

A few have ordered Koni's recently. I'm still awaiting the fronts. Do they come with the self locking collar nut? And what socket size does it take?
(Posting here b/c it isn't worthy of a thread)

I haven't been near-missing gears since rebuilding the shifter...I sat in a BRZ and an MX-5 at the Washington Auto Show, after I rebuilt it, and felt unimpressed with those shifters.

You know I might have to follow in your footsteps there.. my shifter is definitely getting more and more loose. Do you ever have issues doing the 3->2 downshift? For me sometimes it feels like 2nd is a lightyear to the left, instead of right next to 4th E46 M3 trans mounts + 128i short shift lever by the way Also a slightly discomforting discovery: I started feeling a vibration in my steering wheel along with a slight knock when the car's cold and I back outta the driveway, so I jacked the car up and took the belly pan off (also I needed to bend the motor mount heatshield out of the way for the headers - make sure you do this BEFORE installing the headers, otherwise its a giant pain in the ass). I did a little research and someone mentioned they accidentally left the 2 steering rack bolts slightly loose when they did their oil pan gasket. I put a wrench to mine and they spun - so I grabbed a wrench to hold the top nut while I cranked on the bolt itself. Lo and behold, both weren't 100% tight. Not loose enough to back out, but I guess enough so that the rack wiggled a little bit. Not fun.

That’s surprising. I’ve read the MX5’s transmission is fantastic, though I have not driven one yet. My ‘91 Miata had a great transmission, far better than my 1er, but only after I rebuilt it. Maybe a rebuild is in my future for the 128i...
