Where to stay in Lime Rock?

Going to the EMRA time trials at Lime Rock on 8/27, and since it's a 5 hour drive from Harrisburg PA I'll be staying at a hotel overnight on Friday. I'd like to be as close to the track as possible.

I've read on the EMRA forums about hotels in Torrington CT but that's completely out of my path. I'll be taking 84 East to Shenandoah then head north then on 44 East to the track.

http://maps.google.com/maps?saddr=Ha...s&vpsrc=6&z=12

Is there any town at a max of 1 hour away from the track that's on my way where I can find a cheap roadside hotel for say $60 or less? This place is in the middle of nowhere, jeez..!

Why not stay at the track, especially if you want to save cash? Always a good time camping out if you don't mind roughing it a bit. There is a good little hotel/inn/motel place right near by, but I don't remember the name of the place. It may be in the town of Millerton, NY?

Well then camping may not be a good idea for you. Haha

Well, try looking around the towns that neighbor Millerton because I know of a little one that sits near a body of water so something does exist within 10-15 minutes that shouldn't be very expensive. I live pretty close and I haven't stayed there in over 8 years, but I do remember there being something.

There are a couple of places near by. Nothing fancy. But they are close. If you get enough adult beverages inside you it is ok. I think one is called Interlocken or someting (maybe in Lakeville). I was instructing for an AMG ride n drive a bunch of years ago and they put us up there. Try just across in New York State off of Rte 22, too.

It has been many years since I was at Lime Rock. But the place I stayed at was as you drove to the track... from NJ... a few miles before the track... there was this hotel on the righ hand side of the road...

Interlaken Inn
74 Interlaken Road, Lakeville, CT 06039

It was a decent hotel. Maybe that will help you out. I really only stayed there bc it was so close to the track. Just down the street.

Millerton NY is the town across the border. Also Sharon (CT) Motor Inn, 1 Calkinstown Rd
Sharon CT 06069 Tel: +1 (860) 364-0036

If it gets tough finding availability, you could look in Danbury too. But it is an hour away.

the one in sharon is showing as $175/night on priceline fml haha...

edit: danbury is actually on the way there. might have to go with that. i found super 8's and other $60 stuff there.. only problem is that i'll have to take 78 east to 287 north and go through white plains... how's the traffic there?

because my plan was to take 81 north to 84 east and avoid all those new jersey/new york crowded cop-filled highways

Actually to 78 to 287 to 87 to 84. Or 81 to 84.

Yup Danbury has all your chains.

I took I-87 up from NJ. I seem to remember near Kingston, NY there were quite a few cheap "chain hotels". Motel8 and the like.

Use google maps first do a search for Kingston, NY. and then put in Hotels - in GoogleMaps.
