There is no difference between 72000 and 72050. The 0 vs 5 is just a check digit that is calculated based on the rest of the numbers. Means nothing at all. So really Richard's car is 18445, which is almost 200 cars earlier on the production line for the Aussie cars than mine.

I wonder how many cars come off the line a day? 200 cars could be one day apart.

Still waiting for my VIN, dealer was out of office today, said he'd ring tomorrow with the number "if available"....
