So little options for wheels

what is it with rims being so expensive! i cant find 19 inch rims with the right offset that look half decent, there are a few out there. i dont want to spend 2k on a set of rims that will probably end up chipping or pitting after a year or so. why cant there be some basic options and styles for under 1k? trying to find rims is starting to be a real headache.

You can get a set of Alufelgen CS7 in 19" for $1k flat on mod bargains.

yeah i think there are 2 different styles of rims that have 1 series offset anywhere. and even at that they look the same. and still super expensive.

you gotta think outside the box

If you just look up alufelgen cs7 without selecting the 1 series, you can get a 19x8.5" ET35 square setup. They might poke a little though. Not ideal, but nothing on these cars is...

Yep... it sucks. That's why I try to look for E46 fitments which are similar enough that they don't need more than a little bit of extra work to fit alright. At least it's different.

i was under the impression that if i wanted to go 19x8.5 in the front and 19x9.5 in the rear i would need something like 45 front and 50 rear offset. any other suggestions? i'm going to be lowered and inch and i don't want to have to roll the fenders. i find it so hard to believe that going 1 inch wider in the rear and .5 inch in the front would cause so many problems with just 1 inch bigger rims. loving the suggestions so far. i looked at the apex racing and again every style looks the same, and they look just like every other style i've seen. surprised there is no demand for more options with rims.

There's plenty of demand for it, but this is the only market that has this offset AFAIK. Wheel mfgs won't cater to us, we're too small of a market. 19x9.5 et50 is probably the best you're going to get for the rear sizing for this car. You can squeeze a 255 in there with a decent roll.

Still a similar style but I really like these. I would have gotten these instead of the 710's but supposedly they're about a pound heavier. These are VMR 713's.

E46 fitments are a perfect match. And i think there are a lot more options even within the OE range.

Not sure what you're talking about when you say limited selection

if you go to those websites and actually find the rims that have the right offset for our cars in 19x8.5 front 19x9.5 rear, its 95% chance they are going to look extremely similar to the ones pictured above. which is what mean about limited selection, and probably cost 2-3k. its not a bad design. just want my car to look a little different.

Forgestar CF5s come in 19s with close-to-proper offset range.

really like the way those look. the highest offset i see available there is 45 on the 19x9.5. and 38 on the 19x8.5. any one have this set up work for them? 1100 shipped is not bad for those, imo.

$1500 is real expensive for custom offset wheels with any color finish you want..? You arent going to find $200/wheel 19" in the offsets that you need that would be suitable for any sort of long-term durability. Its just not going to happen.

yes its expensive for something that doesn't look they way i want it, not matter the color. not looking for a competition only on the track rim. all the lower priced rims look like the same style. jebus, thats what this thread was started about.

Did you try TireRack..? Plenty of low cost options are out there.

Or do you want them <20lbs each too. In 19" aggressive fitment. Under 1k. Shipped.

So, assuming you in fact have exhausted the lengths of the internets with searching, what exactly are you hoping to gain by this thread?

Can you guys list the e46 offsets & widths that work??

I'd definitely like to know whats possible

I recall a few 1'ers with rolled arches rocking e46 fitments

thx

Offsets are offsets. It doesn't vary with the type of car it's going onto. The front wheels (usually 8.5 et40ish) of the E46 M3s fit decently as a square setup. Most rears are far too low an offset as well as too wide.

obviously i'm still searching, what exactly does any one that starts a thread on this forum hope to gain? that question really needed to be asked? i didnt bash any of the ideas you put forth. not sure why you turned this to be that i'm being unreasonable in thinking there should be more options for the same price instead of everything looking the same. i started this to see what other people have run into. what they have found to work and not work. no need to assume i've exhausted the lengths of the internet, i'll tell you i havent. but i guess according to that statement i should never put something up for people read that might have some useful input, or suggestion, idea, experience etc.. thanks for your thoughts, even with the sarcasm.
