I have it at home now. Both ED plates were still on the car. The German radio presets and nav destinations are still there.
I put the US plate over the German ED plate. You can still see the Munich "M" and the red date block. I am not sure if it looks cool or dumb.

Its clean and waxed now. It really is a joy to wax a new car, and not need to be careful of the rusty spots.

Congratulations! I'm glad you finally got her back.
On the plate thing - I don't know if it looks good or bad either. I do think it is neat to know cars that were ED'd but am not sure the look is really that clean. The cache may just outweigh the visual oddity.

I wouldn't leave the German plates on. In addition to looking a little too 'busy', I think someone said there's a danger of the adhesive damaging the paint underneath if left on too long....

The votes are mostly negative about the two plates. I will take the German ones off.
I ordered a front plate bracket that mounts to a bottom surface of the bumper so I don't need to drill holes in the front of the bumper. I will probably go to the Warwick Applebees Wednesday night to see if any of the BMW crew is there.
