New winter Tires/Wheels causing DTC Warning & power cutoff on highway + rear camber?
This is apparently a common situation and I'm experiencing the same exact thing:
http://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=770717 http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=323901 http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=615189 Panic (as mentioned in that second thread) is most certainly the first reaction. I just put on 17X7.5 RIAL X10 with 205/50R-17 BRIDGESTONE BLIZZAK WS80 XL as per Gary's recommendation. I was entering onto the highway tonight and gently accelerated, the car kicked on the DTC light and everything went into what felt like limp mode. Later on the highway, cruising at about 60, I accelerated, the DTC light would pop on, and I could put the pedal to the floor and not really gain any speed. Has anyone figured out what would cause this? The other threads postulate the "soft" winter tires confusing DTC, other's say it's PSI (mine are all at 38psi), while others say they waited until truly cold weather (it's somehow in the upper 50's in upstate NY tonight) and it went away? Maybe just need to wait until they break in and wear off any lingering compounds? In trying to determine what's going on, I was double-checking lug torque and noticed that the negative camber on the rear wheels seems extraordinarily exaggerated. I re-checked the fitting of the wheels in case there was a misaligned spacer or something, but everything appears tight as can be. Is this amount of camber normal!? My negative camber is 7/8" measured the same way you did. I can light up the DTC display (and my Blizzak 205/50-R17 WS70's) only by releasing the clutch sharply and applying an aggressive throttle. I never see it during normal driving unless there is something slippery on the roadway like ice or snow. BTW, I keep my winter tires at 33psi front and 36psi rear.
Sorry I could not help other than to confirm that there might be something unusual going on with your 135. How is your tread? New and squirmy or worn and slick? Either of those extremes might be a cause. Good luck.

Give them a little time (50-100 miles) to break in. I had LM 32s put on two weeks ago and the car was fucking scary anytime I got on the throttle. Now they are much better now.

I can see what gear I'm in using the corners of my eyes even when looking ahead. Practice If you do forget make sure you look before you downshift My tachometer and speed I'm traveling at and grade of the road are also huge hints.

Same issue here. Blizzards ws80s causing doc light to turn on. No issues accelerating at low speeds. Only happens at higher speeds.i have about 200 miles on them now. Still a problem.

Blizzaks are squirmy until they wear past the ice compound stuff... and then they're no longer any better on ice.

We initially had this problem on our WS80's as well. Now that it's significantly colder, and we have more miles on them, we haven't seen nearly as much of this issue.
Not sure if it's time or temperature, but for us the issue is much less than a month ago when we put them on.

Personally I would turn the traction control completely off(hold down the button for several seconds) and see how they react. If they just spin, then you know you have real traction problems. If the car seems to drive somewhat normally, then you are probably getting just enough slip to confuse the traction control system(it really does not take much), in which case I would simply turn it off and not drive like a moron. You might also try the snow setting, which is just hitting the button once, as it supposedly allows a little bit of slip before kicking in, which might remedy your issue.
