135i tyre size question

If I remember correctly the standard tyre size is:

Front: 215 40 18
Rear: 245 35 18

I cant find 215 40 18 for the front,
1- is it OK to fit a 225 40 18 instead?
2- what would be the difference in performance?

Thanks

8mm increase in wheel diameter, or about 1%.

You'll be fine with 225/40/18 fronts. Performance difference is marginal.

I just ran this query on Tirerack and it returned 9x different tire options in the stock front/rear sizes...

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/TireSe...earDiameter=18

They were:
  • Bridgestone Potenza RE050A RFT
  • Continental ExtremeContact DW
  • Continental ExtremeContact DWS 06
  • Dunlop SP Sport 01 DSST RunOnFlat
  • Hankook Ventus V12 evo2
  • Michelin Pilot Super Sport
  • Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+
  • Pirelli P Zero Run Flat
  • Yokohama S.drive

Those are very common tire manufacturers/models. There's bound to be distributors in Argentina carrying them...

Karl.

Could always just upsize to 225 front and 255 rear. Was a huge difference when I switched. For 18" diameter, use 40 profile front and 35 profile rear.
