os LEADED gas ok for the drag strip.
i'm heading to the track this weekend, and i was wondering if using LEADED gas (C16) would be ok for the car. i know using leading gas for a long period of time WOULD damage the cats and O2 sensors. Would using a max of 5 gallons for 1 day really cause any damage? thanks for your help.

I wouldn't recommend it but just one time of use shouldn't really do much damage. I would recommend VP Racing MS-109 and that is 104 octane.

IF you use leaded gasoline you will ruin your O2 sensor(s) and Cat(s)!
I am sure they must have unleaded gas there as well. Probably 100 or 108 octane unleaded gas. Last edited by Dackelone; 11-05-2010 at 05:23 PM.. |

It will shorten the life of your sensors and cats but one time should be fine. I've used leaded gas on a few occasions when unleaded was not available. Don't have the stock cats but still on the same O2 sensors.
