E-Box Fan

Just got my car back from its 1st service. Dealer has ordered a new centre brake light and a E-Box fan (cooling fan for the ECU box). The OBD threw a code on this.

Unless I haven't been paying attention, I haven't heard anyone needing one of these replaced on the forum.

I'm booked in for Dec 10, first service. Will be interesting to see if they change the oil, and charge a ridiculous amount for it!

There is a fan for the eBox, on the e90 it's located behind the firewall (inside of the car) behind the glove box, I'd assume same position for the 135.

Some people with tunes run a USB cable through the same hole to allow easy map updates etc - not that I would know, I mean what is a tune anyway

A couple have been changed from memory due to noise in the US & I think Mr5 in the US did a DIY.

They charge you for servicing in Australia?

All new cars in NZ come with 3 years scheduled service and maintenance programme

Yes they do

However I imagine that the cost of your servicing would already be built in to the price of the car. As they say "No such thing as a free lunch"

Nah, in NZ it's probably subsidized by australian tax payers, kind of like the dole for New Zealanders that stay in NZ
