Tow Hook

Some dirtbag decided to break into my car and steal whatever they could get, which wasn’t much but did include that hook you use to pull the car onto a flatbed when you need it towed.
And if you own a BMW you definitely will need to get it towed.

So anyway where’s the best place to get a new one, hopefully cheaper than the dealer?

Fact. Three times in 68k miles.
Water pump at 50k.
A month later when the radiator hose not put on correctly when water pump was repaired.
Battery at 60k.

And a couple other times I was able to luckily limp into the dealership.
Really since about 50k miles I won’t take it more than 50 miles or so from home because I’m afraid something will go wrong.

And I’m the original and the car is babied.

A mechanic making a mistake isn't a mark against the car and the battery is predictable. Don't go past 5 years with them.

Op - where are you located? I probably have a couple in my garage. Has the size changed over the years? If not, I can ship one to you for 8 bucks. I have sone old tool kits from my e38 and e28.

Its also the only thing you still find left in the BMW tool kits at the junkyard. The screwdrivers, wrenches and pliers are always gone but no one wants the tow hooks.

Ejm, don't waste your time trying to reply to some snide, ignorant, no-value remark like that. There are plenty of other members here that try to bring value to the threads not just take a dump on them to feel superior.

Thanks but I got the one from FCP Euro the other day.
I haven't checked yet to make sure it works but hopefully the thread pattern is correct!
