09 135i owner CEL just slightly over 81k miles
So I had a CEL pop up and took it to the dealership under warranty and they said there is a common issue with the cams being scorn and damaged so they are ripping into that , in addition replacing several sensors, HPFP maybe and spark plugs, among other things I will get the print out when I am done!
The cel threw the codes for the cam and sensor and several misfires. Only thing that happened prior to that was a bit of hard aggressive driving. I will keep you updated! I was not aware that the n54 ALSO had cam issues but none the less all covered under warranty so I am not really that upset lol I will keep you guys updated I still love my e82 tho haha I have several bmws and have had in the past and regardless of there hiccups I can confidently say there is nothing like a BMW! I can also confidently say the M line when I had my e46 M3 I wish they made a Real M1 with a real M engine "S" series engine! Oh well and they pulled the same crap on the M2 sigh! I am happy with my 135i for now If anyone wants to chime in with any info about the cams or anything else I should have the dealership inspect let me know! Till then I will keep you updated when I know more.

That sucks, and honestly I've never heard of cam problems on the N54. I'm sure they're not immune, but nonetheless that's kinda weird. Hope everything works out.

Yes it was not the cams it was the cam Bering ledges intake and exhaust that is the known issue and they both were scorn, and they replaced some vanos solenoids and oil change, and as for the delay there was a misunderstanding on my part some parts needed to be ordered and such! So all is well! Glad to have my car back! Haha oh and not that I am too shocked but it was about 500 in parts and about 4k in labor lol thank gold for the extended warranty

Oh and I wanted to let you guys know about a iOS app that helped me with reading BMW codes in addition will code some things for you such roll up windows with fob and several other things it's very useful! The app is free but to enable the coding options it's 19.99 unlocks everything! Each model BMW has different options and you only pay once 19.99 and you can adjust the options on your car! It does not have all options but it has several that were very useful for me! So I thought I would share! Also I am just using a generic wifi obd2 adapter and it works well! Here is is!
