Isle of Man - where how fast you go= how brave or mad you are :)

Right guys and girls, given the success of our recent Wales trip, let's gauge interest for IOM as I would definitely like to go again. I think December would be when I'll be available and won't be as cold as Jan to March. Weather in IOM is relatively mild given its location and some sunshine can be expected during winter. Best bit is that there are very few bikers on the roads during that time, unlike spring, summer and autumn, and hotels are obviously cheaper. We ideally need 4 days for this trip, 2 of which is travelling to and from the island. I last went there during the midst of winter and had a blast, managed to scale Snaefell as well.

Here are some pics of my trip in 2008.

You still have speed limits on your mountain/country roads , apart from the Nurburgring of course.

Yea. We still have speed limits, but most AUtobahns in Bavaria are "unrestricted". Only in built up areas is there a speed limit. On the back roads (Bundestrasse) there is a speed limit of 100 kph and in the cities it is 50 kph.

Yes, I know about the Autobahns as I've driven through Germany a number of times, but Isle of Man has de-restricted mountain and country roads which I feel is more interesting to drive on, don't you think?

Could well be interested in this. I can recommend the Empress in Douglas for accommodation and Paparazzi for a good Italian, also in Douglas. The TT mountain course is an absolute treat but there are also some really lovely scenic coastal roads around the island.
