1er San Antonio meet

Hey everyone. I had my 135i since Nov 08. I'm curious how many people in San Antonio area drive 1 Series. I've only seen about 3-4 on the road. But it sure would be nice to meet fellow enthusiasts alike. Anybody interested?

i know it's a haul, but you're more than welcome to participate in the austin get-togethers if you can't round up an SA crew.

I guess I can hold a bragging rights of representing San Antonio Nobody seems to follow the forum in SA. Austin is a bit of a stretch. How often do you guys meet?

I have had my 135i for a little over a year now, and only had it for about a month before I had to leave San Antonio. Never had a chance to explore some of the driving within the Hill Country. I miss Texas backroads and highways. There is definitely something to be said about wide-open spaces. Now, I am lucky if I can get past 40mph even on the highway around the tourist trap area where I now live.

That must be a torture for you. I'm struggling to keep it legal around town. But I've seen triple digits on the backroads, and some guy in Cayman tried hard to lose me on I-10. We got up to 110 when my exit came up. Well, I hope you can find a place to cut loose

I am not sure if you are aware, but there is a euro car club in San Antonio. If I am not mistaken, it is mostly VAGs, but they do monthly get-togethers and do some cruises, shows, etc. They usually meet at MJM Autohaus, which has euro car parts for a decent price, and if you have any modifcations that you plan to add to your car, Mark at Prestige is a good person to have do the work. Here is a link to the SEA site:

And yes, it is difficult. Most people around this time of year drive 20+ mph below the posted speed limit and frequently hit their brakes as they are gawking out the window at the beaches, hotels, stores, etc.
