ahhh yet another E90 that got fucked with. We should start carrying AK47 around. Or fucking camp out on the roof and snipe them. Karma will get them. They'll get it 10x worse.

While I completely agree with you, I know that I cannot change the world. People are going to do what people are going to do. The one thing I can change is myself. When you drive a nice car, it helps to be early and find a parking spot away from the crowd or in the back of a lot. Yes, it is a longer walk, but for the price and the peace of mind, a healthy foot commute really isn't so bad.

Indeed, while very frustrating, it is only a car and a dent is only one repair away from being gone.

Having this kind of thing eat you up inside is simply not worth it.

Advice given is good, try parking in a more moron-free area.

People suck - end of story! As bpbenda said, if you have a nice car you have to park away from other cars. I try to park at the end of a row whenever I can. That way I know at least one side of my car will be safe.
I also never park on the street where another car can park behind me or infront of me.

Spot on, I do the same exact thing, unless of course the car on the other side is a total junker, than I keep going back further. Frankly, I take pride in parking far away. The back of a parking lot is generally reserved for employees and people who can afford nice cars. So, in a odd kind of way, it is somewhat of a status symbol.

Jerry Seinfeld might call us "back lotters".

Another thing is to never park within two or three spots a shopping cart corral. Talking about total junkers, doing so is a first-class ticket to such status. Also, when possible, I also try to park to the right of a car as opposed to the left. This is because the driver's door to every car will be opened when the owner returns, but not every vehicle carries a passenger. So, if you have to park next to a car, you always want to be to the right. Small things, I know, but defniitely worth the two seconds it takes to make the additional effort.

I am a freak about parking too.

Still, I have a two inch long scratch on my passenger door.

it doesnt really matter how careful YOU are. People still can fuck with ur car if they get a chance to. I was sitting in my Camry at school and this chick opened her door (which was right next to me). Next thing I know her door just slammed into mine. My car was shaking. Man I was pissed. I mean fuck I WAS RIGHT THERE IN THE CAR MAN!!!!!! People are just idiots.

LOL. Don't be too hard on yourself, moroniness is a commodity widely distributed around the world.

You should see some of the cars in major euro cities, even though they are sub-compacts, they are full of dents, some self inflicted, some the result of the actions of others; all due to extremely hostile parking environments.

Bro tell us how you really feel... don't hold back Danny.

That sucks man that you have all those dings. The good thing (if there's a good to this) is that since all the dings are on the same panel then you'll only get charged once since those paintless removal services typically charge by the panel. So let it add up to 5 dings or something and then get those people to remove the dents bro.

I guess we can blame government schools (in the US) or perhaps lack of parental supervision for people who can only express themselves by using foul language. Sad indeed!

Same thing happened me, but luckily I was in a rental...but still. I was sitting right there in my driver's seat when this lady parks her car, and in the process of getting out, slams her door into my vehicle without even looking herself to see if she'd done any damage! She didn't give a damn! Like you, it literally shook my vehicle! I banged on the passenger window, startling the hell out of her, and commenced to ask her what the hell she thought she was doing? She didn't even have the courtesy to say she was sorry, instead opting to just ignore me, and went inside the store at which I was parked. I got out, looked to see if there was any damage, but there was not. I waited for her so I could give her the evil eye once more before she left. She couldn't even look my way, but she damn sure took extra care not to hit my vehicle a second time.

Let's hope she at least learned to think about her door the next few hundred times.

The only way to avoid dents is to park the car with strong disciplines.
I always look for single sided space in parking lots and in worse situations, try to park next to some clean BMWs/Benzes/roadsters. Also, avoid to park in between two spaces because you won't know who will park next to you. SUVs, Jeeps, taller cars are most dangerous as the people inside wont see the cars parked 'lower'; schools are also very dangerous as parents are always in a hurry to pick up their kids. If you have to choose to park close to another car , try to park closer to the next car's driver door than to passengers doors; as elderly/children usually pretty careless when they open a car to get out of a car. All my previous cars have dents but not anymore on my E90 (2 mths) and W203 (19 mths). Remember, park farther away, just walk a few more yards will save a lot hassle and money. Dark/dirty/big size cars get dents easier than if the car was an Aston Martin or Red Ferrari as some people tend to look down on cheap cars.
Respray your car and start all over again.
