And its a repairable write off, don't know if it can be registered in NSW now we know why its so cheap
So its not such a decent cheap buy, if anything to expensive.

How did you know that it's Repairable write off??

I'm thinking of letting go mine. Hardly driven and such a waste of space in the garage

^Yeah it's a little on the high side when you consider that the white stolen-repossessed 1M sold for $52k last year (engine light was on, among other issues).

And yes it can be rego'd in NSW once it has been registered in another state for at least 12 months (otherwise another inspection in NSW is needed).

This up to $94K from $86K..

https://carsales.mobi/cars/details/S...g_4=PriceAlert..

Been toying with the idea of letting mine go. 7,500km and presents like a new car. Thinking what's a reasonable price to expect.

You'll never know for sure, but I know who the owner was and he didn't need to sell, so I can't imagine him taking much off.

Weirdly enough, we rarely LOL when thinking about car prices, but yeah, you're spot-on!. There are other benefits though, just not the automotive kind.

Wonder if 1M prices have bottomed out in Australia and may be starting to gently climb?

We've always been a strange market because Australia received so many cars per capita compared to the US or UK. In the past there have usually been ~15 cars available on the market at any given time.

Now there are only 8 x 1Ms for sale . . . perhaps all the positive comparisons with the M2 and recent glowing reviews from Chris H/Greg M, etc, are creating a sense that this is a more collectable BMW than some had previously believed?

In the US and UK these cars are definitely moving up in price and are selling for more than original list. Don't think we're there yet (A$110k-$120k is a big number) but I doubt Aussie prices will ever be lower than they are now.

Agreed.I was gearing up for a potential purchase 4 or 5 months ago and sub $50k was possible and sub $55k was more achievable.

Now there is pretty much nothing under $60k

I think only high mileage or repaired write offs are going to be the "bargains" from now on.

Problem with that is, if you own one and you think its going up in value, how do you get in it and drive it, knowing you might be devaluing it by the km?

Don't have that problem with mine, just drive it at every opportunity. Cant take it with you!
