oem wheels painted

moved to e82 official black coupe thread

Hey guys,

I just picked up my 2012 135i and I'm excited to get to work. I haven't been able to find a clear picture of my stock wheels painted black (gloss, satin, flat)

I have only found 1 picture and it is at a bad angle. Thanks

no sport package. I didn't even know what that was until I just looked it up. No big deal, I can always plasti dip or paint it in the future if I want.

The important thing about the Sport or M Sport pkg is not the shadowline trim, which is nice but not necessary, it's about the sport seats and M steering wheel, which IMO, are a must. Especially the seats.

Yeah, of course I would have loved to have everything, but for the price and how rare this car is around me, I'm very happy with the outcome. There is a lot to be done inside and out.

You can always add those items later, if you want to. Nice car... congrats!

Thanks buddy. It's a blast to drive already. I'm really glad I made the trade. So have you seen pictures of the stock rims painted black?

Not those particular rims, but I'll bet they'd look nice black. Glad you're liking the car.

Thanks a lot, now you've got me obsessing over the trim. i wouldn't even have known if you would have kept your pie hole shut, hahahahaha. I see it does look way better without the chrome. I like having projects, I usually get them right after about the 3rd try. I'll have the JB4 installed, VMR 701's in hyper silver, and full tints by the end of this week. I don't feel like going through the trouble of painting the rims and then not being happy. They will probably be easier to sell unpainted as they are in perfect condition.

701s will look much nicer.

Thanks guys, those rims look so good on this car. I'm having a hard time deciding on black or hypersilver. I know you can't go wrong on either, but it's a tough call. Big difference in the look of the car.

I want to repost asking about painting the stock rims to the black coupe thread, I figure I would have better luck there. I hope I don't get in trouble.

Just trying to edumacate you a little.

Other rims that come with the 1er are 261s, 264s, and the 313s. Plus the rims that come with the Lifestyle Limited Edition model, can't remember the number of those rims. I'm sure someone else knows and can chime in.

It's so funny how it's not noticeable until someone mentions it. I'm glad you did. If I don't paint the stock rims, these are my options. Same rim, 3 color choices. I'm going to drop 1.2" and would like to stick with 18's. I think the pictures are all 19's. If I go with the hyper-silver, I can take advantage of the chrome trim as it blends in with the wheels.
