I remember my neighbor came up to me after I picked up my car, and said - "I hope you don't become an arrogant driver, i've seen too many bmws drive recklessly - and i've come to that theory." I told him, BMWs do not make drivers aggressive, but aggressive drivers buy BMWs. That shut him up. Because honestly - there are always going to be arrogant people, and they're likely going to buy a nice car. A 3 series has nothing to do with arrogant/aggressive drivers. THis article is simply stating the obvious - that there are assholes out there. how insightful. well done.

of course i buy bmws for the name/badge - and everything its stands for.

the best engineered, best safety, best featured mass produced car in the world, and then some.

jealousy rears its ugly head in different ways.

I actually Agreed with some of his big generalization, at least from where I live now. I remember when driving A BMW was for the car and usually you would get flashed from oncoming BMWs, at the stop light it ws not uncommon to get in conversations with other owners talking about the cars great attributes, in the parking lot.......

Now I go to the dealer for a test drive I cannot find a stick  99% of owners here I think buy a name and not a car. I, and obviously all of us on this forum is part of the other 1%. Dont even try making conversation with another owner about his car, you just get a look as if you weren't there. I rather compliment owners of the E30s and E36, E39 because is all about making a money statement for the latest model owners. Its all about how much it cost and " its a beemer" rather than how its balanced (I bet a lot of owners don't know there cars are rear wheel drive!!!) and has good road manners compared to others cars in its class. Let me stop ranting, I guess in the end corporate BMW wants to sell more cars and that they are doing, which is good for the 1% in a way.

Let's face it BMW owners get a bad rap...but then again most people know that going in. How much does what someone else think influence your behavior?

I agree with his generalizations. I had a bad opinion about BMW without ever driving one because of the people I saw driving one. In Quebec, If it's a Camaro = Italian Gino. Bmw 3 series = Lebanese wannabe hip-hop thug. In Switzerland = grey haired gentleman bourgeois.

Generalizations are just that. Typically based on "stereotyping" and perhaps a personal bias of somekind. I think today regardless of your geographic location that this huge "melting-pot" we live in these stereotypes are more outmoded and less relevant than ever.....

Buy what you want and be happy enjoying it. Life is way too short!!!! IMHO

Why is jealousy brought up every time someone says something negative about the e90....

you can lease a e90 325i for about $299/month...not exactly unreachable by most people...

Cut the crap the entire thread is about BMW 3-series in general, where did you get the idea the article was aimed at E90 exclusively? Bring this over to e46fanatics and I gaurantee that you will see similar replies if not more hostile.

Quit trying to talk shit about E90 for reasons without grounds. If you said something negative about E90 that contains a valid point I'd be the first to give thumbs up.
