Good news for those looking for an E82/E88 1-Series, no price increase.

Premium package price increased but now it includes satellite radio and comfort access, a good deal if you want both, a bad deal if you don't. Due to the weakening Euro, we might not see multiple base price increases during the year.

Carbon black metallic color, isn't that new?

Damn it... Carbon black is now available. That would have been really, really tempting.

Looks like carbon black and mineral grey are the only new colors. So maybe that new picture of the 135is is just an overly enhanced lemans blue?

Also looks like the NA 6 cyl is staying with the 128.

Was there ever any reason to think otherwise?

BMW has been touting the idea that it will have all turbocharged petrol engines. For a while I thought the NA 6 would go away, but with the M3 coupe remaining in production BMW is not yet at it's all turbo goal. I suppose it would not make sense to certify a new drive train for what is probably the last year of the E82/E87.

Oh yeah, the new turbo-4. I had just assumed that wouldn't be entering the mix until the new chassis comes along.

No price increase is a good price increase. And BMW isn't blowing smoke when they say the new package structure can result in savings. I priced out comparable 2012 and 2013 128i Coupes to my liking and the 2013 is about $800 cheaper (provided I'm reading the option sheet correctly). Not bad. As long as they don't adjust the residuals downward, that's a decent savings.

Question: I understand that BMW has brought back the "smokers package" for the lower dash and it looks like it's standard equipment for MY2013. I suppose an extra 12V outlet is nice, but I'd rather have the current tray because that's where I stick my smartphone.

Is there such thing as a factory delete of the smokers package? Or can most dealers swap that part out without mangling the dash?

So unless I'm reading this wrong the Non M Sport Package is no longer avaliable for the 128. You want a 128 with Sport suspension you have to get the M Sport which is about $1200 more than what the regular sport package cost.

Yep -- same thing they did to the E9X a while back. I'm not saying I agree with the decision, but I'm guessing BMW assumes most people who want the "go fast" bits want the car to have the "looks like it goes fast" bits to go with it. I'm old school, so I'd prefer to be able to get the upgraded seats, suspension and steering wheel without the blacked out trim, etc. but it's not a show stopper.

One more thing I noticed: the M-Sport Package is now $550 less expensive than before, but it doesn't include wood or metal trim (those are $500 options now). If you were planning on sticking with the gloss black trim or opting for the gloss white, that's a $550 savings. if you were planning on wood or metal, it's a $50 savings.

After reading this info more closely, even more glad I got my 2012. You can no longer get Xenon headlights and comfort access on a 128 unless you get the premium package. Having to pay around $4,000 for a lot of features that I didn't want would have turned me off buying this car. There really aren't a lot of stand alone options. Pretty much everything is bundled into option packages. That's great for people that want fully loaded cars, but I liked being able to pick and choose what I want.

Crimson Red is (still) gone.

And no Sport Package, just the M Sport Package.

Howdy. I've done 4 EDs - 325i, 330i, 335i, and my current 335d. I am planning on going back June 2013 and wanted to get a 1 (or 2...). Any idea when production will end for the 135is?

Is the 4 cylinder now in the 128?
