Again: Location? Proximity to sea, constant humidity, salt? Usual driving conditions?

Not normal for sure.

Normal surface rust. The wheel carrier(and bearing) hubs are made from steel. Some surface rust is to be expected over time. No biggie.

Location: About half a KM from the coast, don't have a garage at home

Humidity: No Sure, but it rains a lot recently.

Salt: No

Usual driving condition: Causal driving 2, 3 times a week.

They will say it is because of the proximity to Ocean, extreme humidity which imo should not be an excuse since this is max 2 years old car and on paper fully galvanized against rust.

As a short term solution, it shouldn't be too difficult to clean it and apply some protector against rust over that surface but why should you bother about this in the first place?

Don't hesitate to use your warranty and post here what the service claims about this please.

What he said . . . seems to be too early to have any rust showing up.

Just want to see if this is something serious, if not, I will leave it until the next service (due in 09/2013) to talk to my dealer about this

Like Dackel said, it looks like normal surface rust on an un-treated surface of the knuckle. It was likely painted and then machined afterwards. That's a very thick piece of steel there, I wouldn't worry about that at all. A replacement part will form that same layer of rust just the same.
