Battery

Well I did a bad thing when installing my blacklines, I dropped one of the circle clips somewhere around my battery, I had the cover off looking at the side to remove. I can't see it, so it looks like I am going to have to remove my battery  . Nothing seems easy to remove on any BMW I've owned lol. Is it just a simple removal, remove positive/negative and what else. Will I hurt anything by doing this? I know this sounds crazy, but everything on this car seems not typically easy. I did a search, and didn't find anything. Thanks for the info

You also need to remove the metal piece hoding the battery in place.

Should be a simple undoing of a nut

Turn your car upside down and shake it like heck... it'll fall out. j/k

I was praying I wouldn't drop one of the nuts into the quarter panel when I changed mine. Good luck with the battery!

haha that's quite funny actually.

I DID drop one of the nuts into that battery compartment. The though came across my mind to take the battery out - but what I actually did was exactly what Gitta said.

I put the car into first gear, and jerked it forward - so that the nut would move towards the rear of the car (between the battery and rear "wall") - so I could stick my hand in an get it out!!

We all hope, rather than the nutty undoing of our friend.

Try the car jerking thing first, may not need to remove after all.

So you did the same thing lol I heard it fall into plastic, so I ASSUME it's in there....I wish I had put the cover back until I was finished with the nuts, oh well

Tape a piece of garden hose onto the nozzle of your hoover and try vacuuming it out.
