What is causing this noise and how to fix it?
I noticed that when i an just rolling along in search of parking that where is a noise that could be heard with the windows down that seems to bounce off the parked cars. it sounds like metal lightly rubbing together ( not to be mistaken for the clicking sound when turning which i already know about )
Anyone else notice this? Whats causing the sound and what do i explain this to the service rep? |

Does it change if you slightly press the brake pedal? If so, its probably just your brake pads as they are barely touching the rotors as you drive. Try a few abrupt stops from 40 or 50 mph (where it is safe to do so) - as you may have a little rust on the rotors where the pads might have been sitting and caused a little oxidation. This should cleanse the rotors from any buildup.

I had same exact issue. Was the brakes. Still does it lightly after I took it in, but not nearly as bad. Mine was pretty loud.
