The thing with CF hoods is that they should be avoided unless your car is only for the track.

Main reason being is that the hood forms an intergral part of the safety structure of the car in an accident.

Because CF is very brittle it can cause additional injury not only to the occupants of the car in an accident but also the other party. Even more so if the other party is a pedestrian.

Thought I'd throw this one in as it's not something a lot of people take into consideration when fitting CF bonnets to their predominantly road-use cars.

True that. If you're serious about losing some weight, take out the rear seats; that'll save you at least 50lbs right off the bat. Then attack that unsprung weight with lighter wheels and tires. The RFT's are pretty heavy.
