Like any other strut brace, it's mostly for eye candy than anything else.

For this install (the 128) it is. But I'm also seeking one for the 135 which will NOT be for looks. It fact it will probably do more for me in the 1er than mine did on the E46 in all the years it hugged the corners at Road Atlanta.

So if you have any reco's - please let loose with em...

From what I've read, there is minimal difference, you won't feel much. I have the sport suspension (from sport package) which already stiffens the ride quite a bit, I don't see the strut brace doing much more for it. Spend the money on M3 bits.

Just as my inside wheel hints at lifting off the ground in a white knuckle turn - I believe the strut brace is doing just a bit.

In the E46 and E30 (years ago) I could tell the difference. On the way to work - no. But I live for the track. And as rare as that has become over the last year or so it's pretty pathetic - but I hope for better times ahead...

I do have the strut brace...the above comments are totally correct. It is eye candy. I really have no idea if it actually does anything. I would suggest one if you want the car to look cool. I would also suggest purchasing an aftermarket sway bar before the strut brace, but that is just my opinion... I also am a track junkie!!

So is your statement about front braces overall or specifically about it's usefullness on an E82 chassis?

I'm adding mods in order of when I find a really good deal instead of the more logical method of in priority order. The Hotchkis front came along first...
