i'm confused... does "sick" actually mean bad in this case? cause that's a terrible fitment for the 1er. even the 18" fitment doesn't really deserve to be identified as a "1er wheel". i'm getting a little tired of seeing stuff like this presented as e82 wheels.
and yes, i realize they "fit"... but if they're supposedly new wheels for the 1er, why are they using the same (3-series) offsets as all the other manufacturers who simply reused their 3-series wheels? Last edited by fourtailpipes; 07-22-2011 at 02:45 PM.. |

Whats wrong with the 18inch fitment? I'm running a 245/255 setup on wheels identical to the fronts and with a 40 offset in the back.
The 255s are a squeeze with the et40 but an 9 inch et45 wheel is a perfect aggressive wheel for a 255 tire in the back |

in short, these wheels were not truly made for the 1er, or the designer didn't do their homework (or knew all of this and still chose to make a wheel dimensionally exactly the same as everything else that's available?). i'm officially calling shenanigans! ...on pretty much the entire aftermarket wheel industry haha Last edited by fourtailpipes; 07-22-2011 at 03:12 PM.. |

At least we are getting not CSL wheels now. Took goddam long enough.
It took me 3 years to buy wheels cause I didn't want a CSL knockoff |

i agree with that! given that i wanted more rubber, i had a choice of either the apex arc-8 or the apex arc-8. in the end i went with the apex arc-8.

^id love a set eventually. But for my current street/occasional autox lifestyle my 245/255 setup is more than enough.
I know what you mean. But the issue is that for the 9.5 et 62 wheel, which is the proper offset most companies will need to make custom tooling instead of modifying the existing tooling. It's a matter of cost for most companies, cost that they don't see being able to recoup because of the small 1er market. It's the same reason that we get ignored by a lot of companies |

exactly. i had hoped (in vain) that after 3 years, some manufacturers would have stepped up to the plate and made wheels for us... not wheels from their 3-series catalogue that are conservative enough to also sort of fit the 1er.
what's especially annoying to me is when they're presented to the consumer as a new wheel made for the 1er. apex managed to do it the right way, pretty cheaply (apparently) and cornered the market for function-over-fashion (and track) people like me. |

Thanks for the compliments!
The APEX AERO-7 is another 1 series only wheel that's a non-csl design and flow-formed. There are some new project for 2012 we're working on as well that should please the 1 series community |

guys hello... a lot of mix emotions here sometimes we just have to ask the right questions, check it out hopefully this clears out some. LT-1 low pressure cast wheel **new from MRR wheels,
18x8 5x120 40et 18lb 18x9 5x120 45et 20.5lb thats the 1ser set up and it was not done for the 3 ser at all but it was done a little agresive for the one only because they didnt want the wheel to look like a stock wheel and just incase the opff set is a isue then it can be shave fronts can be 43et and rears 48et, the 18" set up is for the 1 ser and will look weak for the 3 now the 19" are made for the E90 and up body 3ser fitment. hopefully it makes sence, contact www.bavarianx.com for a one time special offer. pictures wanted. |
