High Gloss Performance Grills - DSB

Do you guys like the look of the black grills on deep sea blue? I just got a 135i and was considering this easy mod.

Opinions and pics would be greatly appreciated.

IMO, have the surrounding frame painted to match your car. I have some grilles with that part painted Alpine White and they look awesome. Unless your car is black, I feel the all black grilles just don't match. They look too after-market, and not like they actually came on the car from the factory.

My thought process (which I'm sure has been discussed before on here) is to match the grills to the shadowline on the vehicle.

Never considered painting them DSB though. Worth consideration.

Actually, blue cars with black accents have always looked great - whether it's black wheels, grills, etc.

I have the same color (dsb) and I love the look of the gloss black grills on my car. They do not conflict at all, the car looks much more aggressive, and like you said, it's an easy mod. Do a search and you'll see plenty of pictures of my car. No need to have anything painted, just install them as they come!

I like the look of the shadowline grill surrounds on cars with the shadowline trim, although the body color surrounds look alright too. Not too keen on the chrome surrounds - it seems like they're really good at showing off water spots.

I'm definitely not going to keep the chrome. It's really a choice of black or DSB I guess.

I have to agree. The LMB takes particularly well to the black grilles.

I agree, on blue...I like the black accents. If you have the shadowline trim, then I would go with gloss black to match.

Yea, that looks solid. I do have shadowline trim. I think I'm going with the black.

Although that pics looks great, I think the Chrome outline gives it that 'BMW' look.

I ordered the black grills. Next will be install. Which, from thread I saw, ranges from very easy to a disaster.

I vote for carbon fiber. Or paint the performance grilles to match.
