Winner.

Went to Sydney 991 launch last week - dullest launch ever.

That said, my son thought the waitresses were hot.

If anyone is ever considering buying the P car make sure you get yourself onto a 'drive day' which is organsised by individual dealers. It's free and you get the chance to drive (hard) the range on windy country roads etc. I'm down for one in May.

Can't say I agree; I was there too - interesting venue, decent standard of food, nice collection of 911 models of the past, and plenty of opportunity to try the 991 on for size; and some tasty cars in the parking lot (rr drop head, sls, 458, et al)

On the 991; in the flesh it's stunning. The 911 has always been decent looking and very competent - 991 is a step up - rivals 993 for best looking of all time.

Overall, worth the trip!

That's a big part of the problem I have with PC Brisbane.
Twice they have told me they would invite me to their next drive day.
Eighteen months later...
And so far not a single invitation has arrived in my inbox.

Absolute shit IMO compared to previous lauches (venue, food, grog, effort).

As for the 991? Looks OK but doesn't knock me sox off. Look forward to taking it for a spin tho'.

Yeah saw the SLS - head turner.

Yeah that's poor.

Had a similar situation once with a Syd P dealership.

I hope this doesn't turn into something like the 3 series launch thread.

Wanted to look at the Cayenne D, and PC Brisbane wouldn't drive it up (it's not a serviced they offer apparently and I was referred from Audi Sunny Coast). Asked when I wanted the car, and I said by December and they said the wait is till March and hung up. On the other hand, Audi was quite happy loaning a car for me in between until the A6 Wagon comes in.

My wife is so pissed off (as the guy was on speaker phone) that she refused to look at the Cayenne after.

Was Interested at a demo from Adelade last year and I asked if they can retrofit a 4wd pack. Told me no one in Aus ever taken that option. I said wanted a car with one, and said he can't help me and hung up.

Level of service is pretty poor on both occasions. Might have to try Gold Coast next time.

and bigger brake discs.
They look tiny in those rims.

BTW - test drove the new M5 yesterday at Westside.
No issues, no hassles, great fun, great car.

How does it compare to the previous gen E60? That was probably one of the best cars ive driven without doubt.

I never actually drove the old V10.
I have a friend who had one and I had a few rides in it.

His hassles were
1. high fuel usage (cant comment but I've been told it is way better now)
2. low end torque hole (now not an issue) and
3. the clunky SMG (the M5's DSG was great to drive. As it is effectively the same as in my Z4, I have put 25,000km on it and I would never go back to an auto and would give serious thought to never again having a manual)
