Ordering issues with berk exhaust???

Am I the only one who's having an above average wait for an axle back from berk?

I ordered this axle back 2 weeks ago. Emailed berk last week and called them today not only to get the same answer, that the exhaust won't ship for another few days.
(I order this from a distributor off eBay, who berk themselves says they are a reputable source of their product, just called them today to get a eta on the exhaust and info about this seller since I'm having a difficult time contacting him).

Just wondering if I'm the only one who's got the same response and has had to wait as long as I have. Kind of annoying.

There's nothing they can say or tell you, they don't actually know. The stuff is on a boat from china like all of berk's products. Boats from china don't come with tracking numbers. When the boat shows up, the exhausts ship out. Make sense?

I ordered mine 6 weeks ago from modbargens. I was told their container came in Weds of this week (Berk told me the same thing) and it would ship out Friday. Still nothing yet. I sent another note out but not as nice as I have been. I'm getting pissed waiting this long.

meh, im not pissed, just a little mad by the lack of truth. ive been told the same thing twice in email, " it will be shipped is a couple days". so i finally just called Berk and talked to someone and got all the details i should have gotten 3 weeks ago. i had no clue Berks equiptment came from over seas. if i was told this before i would have been a lot more chill about it.

lack of communication was what really got me flustered.

Agreed. I just got an email from the vendor I purchased it from and they sent me a tracking number. I should have it sometime next week so they are shipping out.

Boats from China, and Taiwan, and pretty much everywhere, do have tracking numbers. It's called GPS. In this day and age there is really no excuse whatsoever for being in the dark about where your products are. Customers are lead to purchasing products based on a number of factors, not the least of which for me is shipping time/availability. If a company tells me something will be there in a few days and it isn't, I will be annoyed. Maybe that's the New Yorker in me coming out, but let's face it, we've created this new world that thanks to technology is much much smaller than ever before, so excuses go on the bread much thinner than they ever used to.

and to expand on that no, knowing doesn't get your product to you any faster. don't like it? buy american. magnaflows are sitting on shelves waiting for your order, or god forbid, support your local muffler shop.

No? As in "No, boats from China don't have GPS."? Or no as in "Companies shouldn't have any idea where their products are." Because if it's either of those, then I would have to say "You're wrong." Even the smallest mom and pop shops who get a box or a bushel or a crate of anything from anywhere pretty much know down to a square mile where their stuff is (to include from overseas). This is 2014, and logistics isn't what it was 10, 5, or even 2 years ago. Airborne, EMS, DHL, UPS, all of these companies would lose tens of millions if they weren't able to know where their packages were, and be able to make subsequent guarantees as to when they will arrive.

I think you're misreading the intent of what I typed. I wasn't attacking your viewpoint or you as a person in any way - I'm only saying that if a company told me something would be there (more than once) and it wasn't, I'd be at a loss. As far as magnaflow, my exhaust is stock and probably will remain that way, and as for muffler shops... You wouldn't find any Americans in any of those around here anyway. Containers aren't tracked by boat at the end user level. The most a shop might get is 'left port in shenzuan china' and won't get anything until 'arrived at port in richmond, va'.

GPS is great for the boat, but you can't look on a site and see the boat's position - that's just not how it works. Most shipping estimates are give or take two weeks on a boat for that reason. Weather, currents, random crap falling overboard, you name it.

The end user can't look on a website and see where the boat is at, no. But the owners of the containers can. I know they can, I used to do that job. And you're right about the different things that can go wrong.. especially things falling overboard. That happens more than anyone could imagine!

Lol.., whether it's coming from china or not, this is what was said to me from berk on sept 5th via email:
"Hi Jim,
Our container arrived at our port yesterday and it will arrive at our facility on Monday. Your part will ship out on Tuesday"...

Tuesday as in last week. So I called last Thursday because I still did not receive any info on the status, and the gentleman told me they just received the exhausts and they had to weld some special bracket on them before shipping?
So each time I contact someone, I get a different answer.

That's what's annoying to me. If it's going to be a month then tell me so I know what to expect. Don't keep telling me bullsh*t and making the situation worse. Nothing is more annoying is when someone tells you one thing and then the other someone says another thing and neither of which are true.

And to add another fun fact, I've still not received any sort of tracking or email telling me the status. Ughh..

The most annoying part of it is that companies don't tell you when products are backordered anymore let alone list it online before you make your purchase.
