Do bird poops really do that much damage? I normally remove bird dropping within a day but there are times when I'm so busy I can't remove bird dropping for days and even a couple weeks. A car wash gets rid of them 100%.... no marks left behind.. I have monaco blue paint

If I see a Goose gander at my new 1er, it's target practice time.
Geese are the worst, they're flying rats, the filthy buggers. My 128I was carpet bombed. Walking out to my car and I could barely see my hood. Took a beach towel and Meguiar's Quick Detailer to to cleanup. I spent the evening trying to buff out the etching with Meguiar's cleaner wax.

In term of Wax, I was reading that a good Carnuba Wax is a better defense against bird droppings. Supposedly, a natural wax slows down the acid giving you more time to remove the droppings before etching occurs. I hope this is true because my 2011 Space Grey 1-Series is being traded for a new 2013 Sapphire Black Metallic 1-Series next week hopefully. My first Black car ever and a bit apprehensive about this but grew tired of silver, blue and red cars. I'm gonna freak when the first piece of poo hits my hood.

Yeah Ox. I know what you mean about the etching. My previous car was a 2002 BMW 325Ci .. which was jet black.

A Goose fired a shit shot to the side fender (how this was possible? I dunno) When I went out to the car after work it was there for how long? Maybe 4 - 6 hours. I always keep my cars waxed but this etched the jet black and left a dull mark .. a reminder of the offending flying perpatrator.
