1M & N55 SSK the same?
Hi gents,
After a SSK. Either going to pickup a second hand SSK from a friend who is willing to part-out, or one of the following. I quite like the Rogue engineering one, but it says its for the 1M only. http://ind-distribution.com/ind/cate...hort-shift-kit Nate from IND said it's only for the 1M...however isn't the 1M and N55 gearbox the same? Should work as the dimensions are identical. The other option is the following: http://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-20...2008-2010.aspx

Should be the same... same gearbox. Could take a look at shifter part numbers on realoem to compare 2011+ 135i and 1M.

1M and the N55 share the same manual gear box. A 1M SSK will work on an N55 135i.
Some guys have gotten the N54 Performance SSK lever. That's really the only part you need to change. Some have even just order the e90 Perf SSK lever and used that. Either one is less than $100 for the shift lever. Read this thread and what user @scotth944 posted... BMWP Short Shift http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showt...=879129&page=6 Dackel

some one used a 128i ssk for a n55 135i and said it had one issue with reverse i think, just hard to get into gear
i used a n54 OEM 135i lever in my 128i to get less reduction than 128i ssk - to have a middle ground oem n55 stick is alot like oem 128i stick below the ball joint I suggest you look up n54 oem stick , its better than 128i SSK stick because its a bit shorter - less of a reduction than 128i ssk stick also 135i n54 oem stick is much cheaper than 135i n54 ssk package PS 328i =128i stick same with 335i = 135i stick for the respective engine

@PeteA Look at Ian's build thread mate. He's got all the info including part numbers.
Or the first two posts in this thread: http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=879129 |

Cheers guys.
Yep I am aware that the N54 SSK lever arm is compatible with the 1M and the N55. It is unfortunately discontinued everywhere I have looked. As mentioned, Ian was willing to part with it if I paid for removal (which is fair enough given the labor involved) I really like the Rogue Engineering design one. Looks really solidly made. Might go that if we're of the general consensus that it will for work me
