Huh... enter my VIN at the BMW Safety Recall page, and all I get is the air bag campaign. Perhaps once we get to March...

It states production dates affected for 135i coupe and convertible and 1 series M coupe are Jan. 17, 2011 - April 29, 2011.
My production date is April 27, 2010, so no recall for me. Whew! https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/201...7V067-8683.PDF

Ah, good catch finding that .pdf. My car is outside the window (July 2010), so seems I'm in the clear.
Sure wish they'd get to my damn airbag...

Odd the 13s are excluded. I didn't think there were any differences from 11-13.

For those waiting for the airbag recall, have you called BMW USA? I called them last summer, and by October my airbag was in and I was on my way. When I called I asked if I'd be provided alternate transportation, as Honda did when that airbag had to be replaced on our CRV. They said no, but would find me a part. Maybe that's the right way to approach them.

I own a 2011, still need the air bag recall. Although being in Canada, not sure how much slower recalls get done compared to the US. I'll have to ask my local dealer about this issue now.

Airbag recall is not comparable and doesn't say anything about BMW's speed in implementing recalls. Also being in Canada, your airbag is extremely low risk. |
