Cobb Accesstuner Race--Remap Cobb Yourself
OK so I downloaded this after filling out the form on Cobb's website. Please post in this thread if you have done any remapping or want to learn. I will be posting and explaining any changes I make to the stock Cobb maps.
First thoughts: --There are very few maps available (MEVD17 has 1000s of maps) --The tunes from Cobb all run rich (these are DI engines, they tuned lambda like you would for a port injected motor) --Standard bosch load / fill rate torque management --all boost control you need to tune aftermarket turbos / fine tune the stock --no maps for cams / vanos --no error code maps --no HPFP maps, just lambda --no speed limiter adjustment --no overrun injection maps Overall I have to give this map editing software a C- with A+ for simplicity. It's enough to get the car tuned and running fast, but not enough to give a complete tune. |

Looking forward with your updates. I have contemplated messing around with ATR, but haven't dived into it yet. Would be nice to better understand what ptf sees when sending me new tunes and maybe regent own map.

Recommend poking around this thread : http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=472813
Try also searching for V8Bait's tuning spreadsheet posted elsewhere. Vanos tables are in ATR, bottom of the table list. Speed delimiter is a toggle under Edit->Advanced Parameters. Ditto for typical error codes. HPFP map is in fuel tables, "Fuel Pres. Target (Homo)", numbers are in MPa. Keep in mind with ATR you're limited to 18.5psi unless you get your hands on race code (not publicly released), scale the sensors, or switch to MHD/piggyback.

Thanks for mentioning the edit advanced parameters. Unfortunately on mine it only has parameters for 2 DTCs, cat o2 and modified rom. What is this modified rom DTC about? |

We're all hoping MHD Tuning comes through for us. Cobb never finished the N55 exploration needed to make it a solid option.

To update my thread: I haven't driven my car much and have been working on my driving simulator. I bought a CVX 12" 750W RMS sub and put it in the bimmer for exactly 2 days before deciding it would be SO MUCH COOLER providing bass for the driving sim.
I spent some time last night comparing the Stage 1 Aggressive and Stage 1+ Aggressive. I have Stage 1 Aggressive installed now and it's not what I would describe as super aggressive. I'm sure an otherwise stock car could handle 1+ as the timing and load increase is small and fueling is identical. I would really like to lean out the fueling a little bit and get rid of most of the time below .80 lamba, but I'm hesitant to do so without a pre-turbine EGT gage. I have one in my other car (FSI MED9.1) and it's been super duper helpful while tuning. I SOOOO WANT that EGT pyrometer but unfortunately I don't think it's super quick to pull the turbo on these cars. I can do it on my other ride in 20 minutes and that's just not gonna happen here. I have to assume that Cobb is not run by idiots, because they're still around, but the people in charge there must not be so bright as to be interested in making a world-class product while still earning good money. Instead, they cut corners to get a little bit more money in the short term while fouling their own reputation with owners of exactly the kind of platform where PEOPLE ARE WILLING TO PAY MORE FOR GOOD SHIT. It really blows my mind. If they're going to conduct business this way then at the very least they could offer a paid update for "N55 2.0" or some shit with all the features needed by the community. |

Some updates after testing:
Cobb Stage 2 Aggressive stock hardware + gutted downpipe 80-150 MPH (speedo) is 19 seconds, with each gear shifting at 7K which is probably not optimal. Roll raced a couple cars. Faster than: N55 335i unknown mods Charger SRT8 unknown mods Same speed as: Mustang 5.0 (straight pipes, unknown mods) My intake temps quickly shoot up by the time I'm above 100 MPH. Meth should fix that nicely. I have my system all ready to go but it's not installed. I'll run the Stage 2+ file with the meth and slightly lean out the mixture. That should support a little more timing and may some more boost if the wastegate isn't maxed out. Speaking of, I'd really like to do some aggressive work on the mixture, but with no EGT sensor I'm rather paranoid. The only useful way is an EGT sensor pre-turbine, and that will require removing the turbofold to drill and tap one of the runners. I have a pre turbo EGT sensor on my other car (2.0 FSI K04) and it's been really useful for getting things leaned out without blowing anything up. I run over 12/1 afr pretty much everywhere there. |

I'm also working on tuning my N55 on Cobb. Any interest in joining a Facebook group to consolidate all of our efforts, notes, etc.?

Is this still live? I can't seem to find the link to request on their website.

I haven't seen any official statements from MHD other than "We're still working on N55 flash support", but I have seen reports from others saying they emailed and received estimates of sometime around end 2016 to early 2017.
If you guys want MHD access for N55, email them! Let them know there is a market for it, maybe they'll bump it up their priority list.

In need of ATR program. Bought a cobb off someone just as they took atr offline for revamping. If anyone has the program for N54 IJE0S let me know! Could really use some help getting it because these ots tunes are a little too conservative for my tuning needs lol
