19" VMR V710, custom color, 265 rear, NO RUB.

Hi there,

Had my new wheels installed last night, painted by my local speed shop (Speed & Sound Performance) in a custom color. Wheels are VMR V710 in 19x8.5 front, and 19x9.5 rear. Tires are Continental Extreme Contact DWs, 225/35/19 front, and 265/35/19 rear. My car is on stock suspension, and there is NO RUB CONFIRMED. I've even hit dips on the highway coming home at 80mph, with two stock wheels/tires in the trunk, and not a single rub. We even fully loaded each side, and I was able to place all my fingers between the tire and the wheel well. NO ROLLING IS NEEDED. I could not be happier, as I didn't want to roll if I didn't have too, and I think the wheels sit perfectly without a drop. It's a brand new car without the RFT, Contis are my favorites. Anyway, here are some dirty car/wheel pics real fast. It's been raining all weekend, but I wanted to get some pics up. Slek carbon trunk is the next mod up, hopefully ordering today!!

Wish I could feel more confident about running 19s, but I already slightly dented an 18 (since fixed) thanks to the wonderful holes in the road. Those look great.

Thanks! They are just the stock VMR offsets, which I think are either 45 or 48 front, and 50 rear.

The ride on stock suspension and 19s is comparable to the ride on RFT considering the RFT are so hard.

This setup must have a crazy amount of grip in the rear compared to my 245 (see sig)

Congrats on the new wheels, ill give you 2 weeks before you want the bmw caps back on haha

Thanks! Just a little less than $500. Sanded em down, painted them with a metallic paint, and applied clear coat. I didn't want black wheels with a car, but I wanted something dark with a hint of color, that sort of matches all the carbon bits I have on the car (flippers, mirrors) and those planned. I've ordered a Slek carbon trunk lid which should be here next, and soon I'll get their hood as well. The wheels look great upclose, Chad did a helluva job.

Suspension doesn't feel much different with 19s. I put 19s on all my cars, and quite frankly, never understood where the "omg so harsh ride" stuff comes from. Heh

Super wheels set ! They fit perfectly with the rest of the car and I really like their color. Moreover, the yellow brakes make the car more aggressive

Well done bro

Question

Did you get the old TPS's off the old rims and stick them on the new or buy new ones? If not are you getting all kinds of warning and caution light in the display? Other than that love the look, real clean. I'm planning on going with SF-71's with the same specs in Sports Gunmetal. At least now I know the fitment will work out ok.

nice !! Yea, Conti's usually run a tad thin in width and do have a slightly rounded sidewall. My 255 AD08"s seem wider than your 265's as i rub a tad on my fender liner with a roll. Unless VMR changed i do believe the 19" 9.5" rear rim is 45offset, like the front in 8.5. Looks good !!

Thanks! No, these are 19x9.5 et 50. VMR changed the offset just a bit, so the wheel is tucked more.

You can get a 45 rear offset too.... unfortunately the only rears in stock were in the 45 offset and since I have 19x9.5 et45 already in the v713 I went with et45 again.... Though I am sending back my 265/30/19 V12 Evo's and getting the 255/30/19 in the Kuhmo SPT to prevent a rubbing situation and keep overall diameter the same as stock to keep the spedo from being off like the OP's spedo! Love the wheels!!!
