Wow, Papethova, you've done a hell of a job with this. Thanks so much. With such a good deal I'm now debating on the 7/100 instead of the 7/70 because it would add to my resale value if I decide to get rid of the car.

I'm concerned about peppering this poor guy with so many e-mails, considering we're up to 150 people interested in this. Are you willing to act as a relay for common questions in this thread? Two things I'd like to know are:
1. How recent a key read? For instance, my car was in the dealership last week, and I got over 10k miles to go before I'm out of warranty.
2. What's the surcharge on a credit card?

Thanks again. I'm going to be saving at least $500 based on the offer my dealer made me.

The key read has to be within a day or two of when the extended warranty contract gets dated. If you mail your key in then they can time it right for you.

I do not know anything about the fees, you will have to cover that with the contact. Please use email for questions and not this thread since I can reply quicker. Thats why I wanted everyones emails so we arent waiting for people to log into this site. I have no issue with the volume of emails coming in. I volunteered to do this and Im going to stick it through, next time its a different story

You do as you wish. I worked hard to get the best possible deal with the most concessions for us in the group. I cannot control which dealership decided to offer the most for the least. If you read my email you know I even tried to go with others first.

I actually am close to Pacific BMW geographically and they arent as bad as the internet has made them out to be. You can have your opinion from 2000 miles away in Dallas and take your business anywhere. I am not employed by any BMW dealership and did this for us as a group of 1M/BMW owners.

Papethova, I definitely own you a few beers if/when I ever get to meet you in person! If 125 people save 500$, a number I was quoted from another dealer today that was running a special, then that would be $62,500 you saved the bimmerpost people. Enough thanks cannot be said of your hard work. You deserve a member of the year award for all this.

Now that I have gotten a few emails let me say.....

This isnt about who or where. Its about how much and its about us. If you want the plans at the pricing I secured then go ahead and contact the appropriate person.

If you want to go elsewhere feel free to. I am not fielding emails about anyones dislike for who I chose. I feel my explanation in the email is satisfactory and reasonable.

You wanna pick and choose then feel free next time to volunteer and spearhead a group of 150+. I promise you its not as easy as you would think getting all these people organized. Its even more difficult negoitating with 100s of dealerships across the country.

I challenge you to send an email out asking them to blind bid on your proposal and see what kind of response you get and when you reply that you have a much better price elsewhere the tone/attitude/response gets even worse.

thank you and you are welcome.

As I said I hope everyone can benefit from the time and work. In the end I was strapped since some people were running out of time/miles

Great work, Papethova! I know this must have been like herding cats.

BTW: just a a few points that I don't recall seeing elsewhere (tho maybe I missed them):

- There's a $50 deductible per visit under the extended warranty.
- The convertible top and mechanism aren't covered (unless I'm missing something).
- There's no loaner-car included in the coverage, so I guess that would be up to each dealer.

I wasnt aware but I assume those points would be standard across the board regardless of where the plans are purchased and what is paid for them.

Yep, those are features of the BMW extended warranty - same anywhere you purchase it.
