No paddles unhappy Jose.
Curious, when you don't have paddles, can you still shift gears manually with the gear selector, like a car equipped with paddles can?

What I means is, with my car, if I move the gear selector to the left position, I can upshift by moving the gear selector backward toward the rear of the car, and downshift by moving the gear selector forward toward the front of the car.

Normally I use the paddle shifters and do my own shifting, btw.

Yes, I have the option of auto in sport, or I can shift manually by pushing or pulling the shifter in sport mode.

Curiously three 6MTs recently hit the for sale section and I noticed they all had new transmissions:

are you saying the 128 doesn't have enough power to break the transmission, therefore its reliable?

The only other explanation might be that since 135s have actual power, they may be driven more aggressively then the 128s, but who knows

My car has the original tranny, thank you very much, and it feels perfect, too...

What's even stranger is that the 135i has a different, much stronger transmission than the 128i. Driver errors, anyone?

What is with the snarkiness, anyways?

You honestly think they ALL are driver error? All I'm doing is pointing out that the manuals are nowhere near you and the other guy make them out to be, and that's a fact. As far as the snarkiness as you call it, it exists because of douchebags going into threads that ask questions about problems with AUTOMATIC transmissions, only to be told that they should've bought a manual, because bulletproof and racecar. It gets annoying after a while.

Yep. AT owners sometimes do feel a bit abused. Got to admit though that I expected to get some misery over a comment about the AT being better but nothing. Maybe a little mellowing out has occurred.

This. It's why i don't ask more questions. If i wanted people to ridicule my decisions I'd ask my wife.

Mods, close this thread. Thank you.

Good one about the wife!

Please report back if and when you get an answer to your question. Hopefully as MotoWPK described it's just a minor quirk.
