DIY Help your Blackline taillights last a little longer!
While somewhat of a joke, I have seen a lot of complaints lately on the forums about failing blackline taillights due to water.
This has worried me because I also have a set and have the same issue as everyone else. The rubber gasket doesn't line up with the shape of the trunk drain rails (this is easily seen when the trunk is open). What I decided to do is put some 3M double-sided tape in key areas to help the rubber gasket form the shape of the trunk better. I can't really do a step-by-step because everyone should know how to remove the taillights. The pictures are more of a suggested action that you can do. Let me know what you guys think! 1. 3M tape on the trunk drain rail 2. More 3M tape mounted on the inside of the plastic/rubber taillight moulding 3. You can see how I laid the 3M tape, to match the edge of the rubber taillight moulding 4. Here you can see the way the 3M tape is laid with the taillight installed 5. Another taillight 3M picture 6.
