Have you decided on a tune as of yet?

Thanks everyone. Waiting on a email from the recycling place about the manifold. And as for tune I will go OFT. I have a tuner that will do a in house dyno tune in PA. His name is John Kerr. Aka JK tuning. But that will be down the road. Trying to budget how much I spend. Already dropped almost 4k and haven't installed any of the parts lol.

please tell me why a custom tune is a awful idea????


Do you have tuning experience? I do, but not to sqeeze out every bit of power so I'm having him do it. A standardized map will make gains sure but won't be specific to what I'm doing. Also take into consideration sea level effects the way your car breathes. A remote tune will not calibrate the MAF to exact. I want that then start messing with fuel trims ect ect

Because as per his website he knows nothing about BMW tuning.

He's done bmws before, he's a good tuner and I already showed him the OFT and the tables and everything he can do to it. He tunes anything, Hondas, bmws, Mazdas, skyline gtrs, vetts, you name it. I trust him!

Shrug, your choice.

I wouldn't go to Evolve to tune a Vette or Callaway to tune a Porsche. Jack of all trades, master of none.

If you are in PA and get a manifold/headers, we could do a pull before NOS to see how it stacks up against a canned tune.

Indeed! I forgot you live there! Haha my mom lives in MD so I will visit up there ever so often. Interested in a track day at summit point in WV together maybe?

Possibly!, though I just diverted a good portion of my tracking budget to a different project.
