A question about replacing the hood. The current hood latch seems to be held in place with a bolt that has an unusual pattern. Is getting the right tool to remove the latch & attach it to the cf hood any problem?

Thanks.

Quick question: What are you guys planning on doing with the hood roundel? Doesn't the front roundel on the 1 series have a unique size or something? Can it be removed from the OEM hood easily? If not, where's a good place to order a replacement?

Hey iCarbon we are at week 2 of September now. What is the update on the Hood and Trunks? Should they be shipping out soon??

Yes its a torx screw. No biggie they have bits for them at your local hardware/auto store. Many of the OEM screws use this pattern.

You can reuse your stock one by snipping the little plastic clips when removed from your stock hood. It is not difficult at all to uninstall. Or you can just order a new one if you want to keep your stock one in place.

Stealth we posted on the previous page that we were delayed about 1 to 2 weeks because of the move.

Hey Simon_135i where are you getting it painted? I live in San Diego as well. Any recommendations? I was thinking perhaps a larger auto collision shop?

I am actually getting it painted directly from iCarbon so all I have to worry about is installation. I know a few shops that i regularly go to for paint jobs on my 1. I got my front bumper and skirts painted in Miramar.... PM for more details.

I have AW so not painting it would not be an option for me...

Ya methinks this will be one of my first mods going into next spring.

Honestly dun think Im gonna do too much more to it enginewise. I was thinking suspension, but honestly I dont really wanna mess with it, dont wanna risk the warranty bullshit. I think she drives great, plenty of power with just the JB+ and chargepipe/BOV, and i only have the JB+ at 50%. Only other mod I may do other than cosmetics is the HPF intercooler.

Wait... what would painting not be an option? Just because you have AW? If you can't paint AW then I might be in trouble here.

Haha I meant keeping it cf is too much attention for me especially for an AW so I must paint therefore not painting the hood and leaving it CF is not an option for me.
