What is your range after fill up?
Hi,
I used to have 320 miles after full tank fill up for the range. But recently I shows 280 miles after fill up. I'm not sure is it something wrong with my fuel gauge too. So I would like to know what's your range saying after fill up?

I think it depends on the way you drive before your fill up. On spirited driving, I get around 280ish as well. But when I just got off from a freeway cruising no more than 3500 RPM, I got 300+ too. Those numbers adjust on your driving habits.

I never let it get that low. Quarter tank is as low as it gets.

The Range to Empty is calculated using the most recent driving patterns. When I fill my 128i after 70mph highway cruising, the range is about 420 (30 mpg times 14 gals), but if it's filled after a lot of city traffic, it can be closer to 250 (18 mpg times 14).
All perfectly normal. And like they say, YMMV. Tom |

I drive mostly in heavy city traffic with AC on, and am lucky to get 18.5 MPG. Not much range there.

2008 135i convertible, 19k miles, always 91 octane gas
Range: 240-260 miles Mileage: 20 mpg In tank when low fuel warning goes off: 49 mi or 2.5 gallons Range estimate after fill-up: a wildly optimistic 300-320 miles Remaining range is very accurate near the end: I have driven with a remaining range of less than 5 miles. |

I usually get over 300 miles before the light comes on. I put in less than 12 gallons, after driving a bit more. So it has to come on when there is 2.5-3 gallons left.

Mine usually says 380, 128iA. My only gripe with this car is the small fuel tank.

range is calculated based on your mpg. the 1-series has an approx. 14 gallon tank... so if you are getting 20 mpg, then your range would be approx. 280 miles.

Wow, most ppl gets average of 280miles from one tank. And my max was 450km (280miles) rarely, and it's at the bottom on the tank. I do not drive hard, mostly on cities tho...less than 400km (250miles) in winter also!
Hope nothing is wrong with my spark plug or something... Kcc

The fuel tank range is calculated by the average fuel consumption for the previous 60kms (I think?). ie how the car was last driven. Also... what type of fuel are you using? Ethanol fuel perhaps? You will get less range (mpg) with that E-gas blend. I normally can see(on the bc) a range of 440 kms (270 miles) on a full tank. That is with blasting up to 140mph and also cruising on the autobahns over here. The shortest distance I have even went on a full tank was 260 kms. But I was driving quite fast that day! |
