My SoCal dealer told me that black trim was not available with the premium package, only with the leatherette. I ordered lemon with grey poplar.

What is shadowline?

Shadowline is the exterior satin chrome (black chrome) option for the side window frames. AFAIK it's only available with the sport package.

someone asked about the fingerprints and scratching of the piano black. I have something similar in my '01 93k 325 and it has no scratches and the fingerprints are not an issue. Just a quick wipe with an armorall cleaning wipe and a dry towel follow up and it looks great.

Your dealer is incorrect. I have the premium package with gloss black trim.

Shadowline is the exterior window surround in gloss black, compared to chromeline, which is.. well.. chrome.

Well if High Gloss Black is plastic that would explain why the woodgrain/aluminium trim is more expensive in the 128i. (And a shout out to our British-English spellers with the wrong spelling of aluminum above ; -).

Folks who order HG black in a 135 should get a $500 price reduction since wood is standard in the 135.

They should give you the $500...they owe you. Turns out Grey Poplar is the default trim. My dealer tried to pull the same thing, Mikeo came to the rescue.

I am now thinking about going with the black trim over the wood because working in the car audio industry you really see what the wood is really made out of
