Hail damage :(

So the other day we had a hail storm like no other. My car was parked on the street and this is the result. I'm waiting for the insurance adjuster to take a look and see if it can be fixed. I may no longer be in the BMW family Does anybody know if this damage can be fixed? I took a ride to the local BMW dealership and every car that was outside has severe damage. Well see what happens. The pics don't do the damage justice.

So sorry to see that man. Paintless dent repair can do amazing work, but I'm not sure if they would be able to get to the back of every panel. Keep us posted.

I had that happen to my car. PDR'ed it and it came out perfect, no paint work needed. A good PDR guy can get almost anything out as long as it is not to big a hit. As long as none of the paint is cracked you should be good to go.

I'm in the same area as you and I have no idea how my car managed to dodge this. I was at work at the time and my fiance was using my car, yet somehow managed to thread the needle around the hail storms.

Sorry to see the damage, but as others have mentioned PDR is a rather remarkable tech.

PDR should work. If not I'd be all over a carbon hood trunk and roof. If you keep all 3 unpainted it might just work out to be around the same cost as painted OEM replacements.

Oh man, I lucked out. I'm just east of you and the hail missed us in Ptown. I was out there last weekend and I saw cars with smashed windows, dimpled up like golf balls all over the place. Man, I would cry. Then I would dip the car in the Schuylkill to make sure it was a right-off. Give us an update, I would like to know how that can be repaired.

Will do. Still waiting for someone to come take a look at it. At the BMW dealership every vehicle is damaged. Sad sight to see.

Wonder if they would have the stones to tell the next customers that all cars had hail damage. Very unfortunate for you as well man. Never like to see mother nature get the jump on a fellow enthusiast! I'm so OCD that I couldn't look at my car the same again knowing that .

So the insurance adjuster came and appraised the damage at 3200. So I get to keep my car Now I just have to find a place to get it fixed since most of the shops in the area are booked for months.

I remember a long time ago, there was a freak hail storm in Austin. Someone posted a picture where the dealership put every single customer car in for service into the service garage.

My 2011 135 vert took way worse than this. I live in Charlottesville Virginia but work in Danville, Pa during the week. I've never experienced anything so violent. Hail was large than golf balls.

Amazingly, the convertible top held up beautifully with no damage whatsoever. The rest of the body was a mess. Here's what I'm getting new (totally beyond repair):

-Hood
-Trunk
-Driver's side mirror
-Windshield (cracked)
-Front bumper
-Rear bumper
-both taillights

Front fenders, doors and quarters all get PDR

Given that I "live" in Virginia, it wasn't a problem getting her in and worked on immediately. I actually spoke to the shop late this afternoon and she should be done this week (Monday). That's about two weeks. A lot of people at work (in PA) are in the same situation having to wait months for shop time and the insurance companies are totaling cars left and right.

Believe it or not…yes. The hail was unreal. Blew out windshields, rear windows and sunroofs, put dents in metal that looked like it had been hit with a sledgehammer. The parking lot where I work looked like a war zone.

The plastic bumpers were dimpled all over the place. The shop had to do their due diligence and attempt a fix. Received a call earlier in the week that full replacement would be necessary. I've had work done on other vehicles at this shop. They're high quality but also know how "particular" I am.
