sourcing space saver tyre
Hi guys,
I no longer run run flats and require a space saver for emergencys. I have purchased a 17" space saver rim from BMW that clears the front calipers of the 135i, Im have extreme trouble finding a place to supply a tyre for it however... i was told its 135/80/17 Can anyone lend a hand here or had previous experience sourcing one? Im located in sydney. |

I've got the alloy space saver. Previous owner bought it and it came with the sale of my car. I keep it in the closet and keep a slime kit in the car.

To my knowledge, the last space saver tyre I tried to get for a customer because BMW was Backorder, nobody can supply them they are a dealer only option.
The thing that's confused me is why the dealer let you buy the rim only. I would have opted or at least given you the option to purchase the Complete Tyre and RIM as a package, you'd be on your way now. As bmw have stock of this. FYI tyre size according to catalogue should be 125/80R17, BMW do have stock of the tyre, shoot me a PM if you want some more information. |

Any local tire dealer should be able to order you a space saver tire in that size. I think some guys here have found out that a Mitsubishi Galant space saver fits our cars. Not 100% sure.
There is always Tirerack.com too.
