BMW performance seats too high

I recently put the BMW performance seats into my 1M and I'm still trying to get used to the higher-than-stock seating position.

Are there any modifications that I could do to remedy this?
Would installing Macht Schnell lightweight floor-mounts lower the height a little?

There are two positions and yours are probably in the highest. You need four new bolts and need to put them on the lower setting which does lower them quite a bit. The bolts are one time use only so this is why you need to fit new ones. Available only from Recaro in Stuttgart, Germany.

I mounted my BMW performance seats today. And it is fucking hell with that 4 bolts. First of all they are sealed with Loctite threadlocker. And they are tighted very hard. And what is worst - they are made of very soft iron. So 2 of them completely melted although we tried to untight them with proper Allen tool. Definitely do not know why Recaro made lowering seats this hard.

And it appears they can be ordered from BMW as part number 52102152617. See there.

Easy way to remove bolts is to use slight heat, which can be from a hot air gun.

We utilized hot air gun without success. Actually one of two resistent bolts opens in final. But last one is still there. Probably must be drilled out

Funnies part is that driver seat was done almost immediately. But on passenger seat those bolts were tightened almost to death. At the end of the day i think to leave passenger seat in upper position. But its only one last bolt...

On the lower of the 2 settings I find that they are fine and a massive improvement over the standard seats

A massive improvement over the standard "power" seats or "manual" seats? Since manual seats go almost 3 cm. lower than the power seats, I heard that in fact standard manual seats and performance seats at their lower position are kind of similar at that.

Confirmed. I had manual seats before performance seats in lower position and they are aproximately in the same position.

Hi guys, sorry to bring this post up again but I’m feeling way too high in the seat. I’ve got an 118d diesel with M Package and so manual sports seats and they feel way lower than my recently bought 135i with the Performance seats.

How can I confirm in which position am I? By the looks of it (both bracket/slider) I would say it’s in the lowest position but I don’t know how to make sure.

Thanks!
