1. I mainly use it to monitor my boost levels by allowing you to read peak boost. However, the gauge is also clever enough to record 15 second real time data logs on the fly and then play them back. This is perfect for drags.

2. I also use it to monitor my water temp, which IMHO is equally as important as oil temp. Water temp should really be standard on this car!

3. If you ever throw a CODE the boost gauge will display it when you start the car. This has saved me a couple of times. Once my engine oil level was low and the gauge notified me immediately. It also appeared in idrive but only if you searched for it under Vehicle Status - which honestly, I don't do very often. This feature also comes in handy if you're modded for tuner related codes

4. The gauge also allows you to delete codes at the press of a button. Doesn't get much easier than that.

5. The 0-100km/hr is handy for anyone practicing launches.

6. The gauge also tells me the 'real speed', instead of what my speedo tells me.

For me, numbers 1-4 alone make this mod very worthwhile. Plus I like the design of it. Everyone that I have shown it to thus far does not realise it's aftermarket.
So you can help me with installing the canbus?

I've got the Electronic Perf wheel & the P3 vent gauge.
- Wheel is good for monitoring water temp but not much else IMO. The rest of the readings are mostly gimmicks. If I bought one again I'd buy the non electronic wheel. Alcantara looks good, but without gloves is not as grippy as leather.
- I've got issues with the quality of my P3 vent gauge. The vents were very difficult to adjust until I pulled the vent apart and cut the obstructing blades. I still have an unresolved broken tab on the screen. The gauge also took many months after I paid before shipping. The unit works well however and looks OEM.

Hopefully the new version fixes that issue and hopefully they wont take many months for it to get delivered!

Just trying to understand communication inside our car. The idrive has no direct acces to the PT-Can bus - which means you won't have the data rate required. To get the data at the frequency for logging, we need to get into the PT-Can.
