Dealer gave me this today:
30,675 Euro Invoice 380 Training Free/Maaco Fee 1,320 Leather 455 Comfort Access 455 Heated Front Seats 135 Heated Wheel 825 Destination = $34,245 +1,000 "Profit" = $35,245 Out the Door. He said he couldn't do better, but I won't settle unless they do $34k + 3.9% + 2 free months ($1,300 savings, so essentially $32,700 total) Remember, I am doing ED. I'm not getting it for US delivery at ED pricing (I wish!!)... |

Rickster311, a US dealer has no incentive to take an ED order at those numbers you are hoping for - and ordered ED car has does not have the floorplan financing drag, or traditional "its on the lot" so lets move it opportunity - you should check out the bimmerfest Euro delivery section of the forum - ED invoice + (500 to 1000) profit is the norm - seems like you are trying to force a new car at an unrealistic price when you should focus on the used 08's for a smokin deal.

TURNS OUT HE LIED..! On the Work-Sheet we have we have "$35,245" circled, and I remember asking several times, "This is the final price right?" and he confirmed.. well in an email he just sent me, he said the reason my monthly payment ($647-650) wasn't matching his quoted ($678), was because I did not include tax ($1130) , Tags ($200) and Doc Fee ($399).. What a load of croc! First he tried to charge me the MAACO and Training Fee, and now after confirming $35245, he's somehow at $368XX.. I emailed the 5 biggest dealers in the DC Metro Area telling them my offer of $34k out the door for Euro Delivery. Any suggestions from anyone? I plan on buying a bunch of the BMW Performance Accessories (aero kit, carbon fiber interior package, carbon mirrors, kidney grill), was thinking I can use that as a bargaining chip - but not a good one at that.. Also thought of the financing aspect, but like some of you noted, it's not really going to work as BMW doesn't make too much off of it. So that chip is kinda gone too now. Anyone have any idea's or suggestions besides the obvious (pay more)? I know I'm paying for a BMW so shouldn't expect some low price, and I know it's lower than most have paid on their 135i's, but in this state of the economy, I really think this offer pushes the limit but is still acceptable. Worst comes worst, I bump my offer up to $34.5k out the door, but that's only if all 5 dealers refuse .. Lets and see what happens... |

You are wasting your time. You are asking for the dealer to sell this car at $34k - the tax and registration. This comes to about 32,670. Invoice is 33,865. I have heard of a couple of people who got invoice plus 250 ,tax and reg. 500- 1000 is the standard deal. I know I'm paying for a BMW so shouldn't expect some low price, and I know it's lower than most have paid on their 135i's, but in this state of the economy, I really think this offer pushes the limit but is still acceptable. What would the motivation for a dealer to order a car and sell it to you for 1200 below what he pays? |

You obviously have not been reading this thread carefully... INVOICE for EUROPEAN DELIVERY is $30,675, NOT $33,865... In fact, I dont even know where you got 33,865 because US invoice is $32,980! So.. yeah...I am NOT wasting my time. I know this because I've had 2 dealers out of 5 that replied today saying that offer "reasonable". Then my dealer I've been working with suddenly replied offering me $34,365. Hope this helps everyone in their future purchases.. don't listen to everyone who tells you "that offer is too low" "it won't happen" , ect ect. You'd be very surprised how far a dealer is willing to go, whether it's on their lot or not. I'm at $34,365, which is 100% invoice + $500 to the total invoice price for their "profit" (of course their profit is more! but they wont tell you that ) and this price included ALL taxes.tags and fee's.. (which I was told equated to nearly $1600..) Don't settle. Show you're willing to walk. Shoot out emails to the 5 biggest dealers in your area.. you'll get the a great price |

I got that figure from you. The ED invoice for the car with the options you described is $33865. If that deal for $34,365 includes everything I would be there tomorrow and sign a PO. Be sure to take your passport as they need that to process the PO. If you can get a date in April and sign the finance contract by 3/31 you can get the two free payments. Good luck. |

After my final negotiation,
$33,365 + Tax/Tags = $35,999 OTD but they will honor the 2 free months ($1300 est) so In actuality I'm paying $34,100. If any of you want to know my dealer please PM me, I'd love to give you his info and send some business his way as he's been so helpful with me. |

Though in reality you'll be paying quite a bit more out the door after you factor in the interest on the loan.... |

It does seem that they added ~$1000 to the invoice price. Are taxes 3% in virginia with dmv fees running ~$50? Also, given the above #'s you're really paying $35999-$1300=$34699 not $34100.
At any rate, have fun on your ED! |

Made a typo, sorry for all the confusion.
$30,675 Invoice on Euro-Delivery 135 Heated Front Wheel 455 Heated Seats 455 Comfort Access 1,320 Leather = 33,040 + 825 Destination = 33,865 (Accidently noted 33,365 earlier) $33,865 Final Price on the Car 500 Dealer profit (over-invoice) 1,100 3.2% State Tax 399 Doc Fee 105 Tags Grand Total: $35,969 On Euro Delivery Now I did get them to agree to the 2 free months, and 3.9%.. so in essence $660/month I save, for 2 months ($1320). I did the math, and if I pay off the loan after the 2 months, you pay off $543.61 the first month and $545.38 the second month towards the car, and $116.84 goes to interest the first month, and 115.07 goes to interest the second month.. So in all actuality, you don't save $1320, you'd save about $1100 + Any fee by BMW (I'll ask on Monday if there is any). The $220 you should have saved went to your interest.. still very much worth the deal though! |

So you paid $900 over invoice which is what i said most people get on an ED.
But it is true with the two payements your net is about $200 under so it is good deal. I am doing my 2nd ED and I paid that doc fee on the first but then realized it is just extra dealer profit and am not paying it on the second. Do you have a confirmed delivery date? The European Delivery forum on Bimmerfest is a huge resource of info. Take a look over there. |

I was told there is no way he can take off the doc fee or tags fee. I had an offer from another dealer for about $500 cheaper, but they wouldn't match it even when they knew I was willing to walk out...
I'll try again when we actually go sign the paperwork, but I doubt it.. Are you positive it is a 100% profit, and it actually doesn't cost them to do the paperwork?? |

Now if you don't get a euro delivery date that puts you in range of the end date for the "free two payments" program you may have a problem with BMW Financial services on that - the dealer does not administer that program - so I would clarify with BMW FS exactly the latest date at which you can sign for this car to qualify.

I thought the 2 free months do not apply to the 1 series? I've been told that it only applies to 3 and 5 series sedans? Can someone post any type of documentation that shows that it applies to the 1 series? I'd like to take it to the dealers that I visited and shove that it their face. |
