I use the free version. Can't see a reason to pay for it unless you want to use it for recruitment purposes...

Exactly!

I use it exactly for what it's meant for - networking, career progression, to know what else is happening in my industry.

Have also used it for new client poaching quite successfully.

What exactly is it for? I know its a networking site and that it went public last month and was worth over 10 Billion USD in like a day or two

Best way to describe it is like a Facebook for professionals.

You can be introduced to people who you want to get in contact with, search new jobs, join industry or company groups, application vetting (epic - LinkedIn is awesome to vet applications) etc.

No, not really.

LinkedIn would probably suck for stalking considering most people can see who's been looking at their profile.

Nothing still beats a tinted car, a 500mm lens and a mobile phone on private.

Which is why you're getting a 5% tint all of a sudden now? Things aren't adding up well here Alex!!

the paid membership is only good if:
- you're actively looking for a job
- you're in presales and want to contact people you are not connected with
- you're a recruitment agent.

I turned it on about 2 years ago and forgot about it - wasted the 25 bucks a month or whatever it is until earlier this year..
